Buy Fundamentals of Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems (6th Edition) on desertcart.com ✓ FREE SHIPPING on qualified orders Review: An Outstanding Text and Reference for Differential Equations and Oscillation - This is my favorite text book, by far, for undergrad differential equations. I took differential equations in college awhile back and thought I needed a refresher before tackling vibration as an intro into quantum mechanics which is a hobby. Well, I needed more than a "refresher," and had to restart from the basics. I purchased a handful of the current undergrad texts and examined a few of the others. This text (along with its student solution manual) stood out as the perfect self-study book. Not only is it thorough and rigorous, but the applications to oscillation and other areas in physics were quite informative. By the time I completed this text, having solved most of the problems, not only had I learnt enough differential equation to comfortably move on to more advanced levels. And the thorough exposure to oscillation turned out to be quite valuable. Review: A good math book - This was an excellent math book that I could follow along section by section in my Differential Equations class. I highly recommend it

I'm glad I rented this and it wasn't that expensive
As soon as I opened the book to start studying for my class the first few pages fell out. I'm glad I rented this and it wasn't that expensive.

Pretty good.
This was the book required for my Differential Equations class 2 years ago now. I was probably one of the rare people who actually reads the chapters in books like these. It usually does a good job of explaining the process of solving the problems, if memory serves. Some chapter can get a bit concept heavy and hard to work through, but that's just the nature of the subject I'm sure. The modeling of heat flow chapter is one example of this, I must've read that chapter 2-3 times over and still couldn't manage to figure out where everything was coming from, but the few times that happened aside it was helpful. I also liked the little jokes added into some of the examples as notes "The driving force for oscillatory motion on a metal spring mattress is best left to the readers imagination, our editors say." All in all a good book.

Perfect for everyone with a curious mind!
I think this is an underrated book. I think this is a must have book if you are anyone but a pure mathematics student. It connects you to the physical side of differential equations and gives a good feel about why you need to know this subject. As an engineer this is what I look for in any book. Once you read this you can even get deeper into diff. equations from a more theoretical standpoint.
