It is bright on AA. It is probably brighter with the 14500 battery, but I don't have it.Mode switch is easy. Basically turn on and off quickly to switch modes. If the flashlight is off for more than a few seconds, it will save that mode and be on that mode when turned on again.Pocket clip is strong enough. I don't use the included strap.Swapping out the different rubber buttons was confusing since there were no included instructions, but I found that all you need to do is unscrew the copper ring on the interior of the tail section of the light. I just used a pen to unscrew it. So far it is a good light. Seems well made but I doubt it can submerged in water or some of the other claims on the commercial. The light is extremely bright, it can temporarily blind someone by looking at it. It has 3 brightness settings, a strobe, and SOS setting by hitting the button.
