I have used this several times to locate studs and wires before attempting to either drive in a nail or to cut into my wall(for doggie door).The only that I find annoying is the pads on the unit that goes against the wall, makes it sound like it is scratching the wall. At times it can be a little touchy when going over a stud or wire, showing it then disappearing and taking a couple extra tries to relocate the item.I still like it and will continue using it, taking my time to get it right.

I liked the distinction between wood and metal studs, wire, and pipe. I'm doing a full-house remodel and I need to know what could be in harms way in the ceiling against the sheetrock. This does not work on textured ceilings.

First be aware, no iPhone support, so I dug up an old Android, constant errors on that phone. Then used my primary Android, it works but really does not show anything more than what a LED stud finder can. Not worth the aggravation, or the cost. Maybe you will have a better result.

Fancy toy, not at all worth the price. The same, or better, job can be accomplished with the standard locating tools.

I like the visual, and it is easy to use. It gets confused sometimes and I have to start over. It gives more confidence than a normal stud finder. It detects electrical lines and studs. Make sure you get one that is compatible with your phone.

I am a Handyman who drills into walls very often. Not knowing what is behind the wall is risky to say the least. This tool has prevented me from hitting a water line on a few occasions. Worth its weight in gold since I've had no insurance claims.
