It should come with a lid. Both Lowe's & Home Depot sell it for same price WITH A LID so Amazon should also supply a lid.,

Is this trash can shipped in a box? I would prefer a clean non UPS/USPS abused can to store my RO water. Thanks.

Yes. Mine came in a large brown box via UPS with some long cardboard paper packed inside so it didn't move around too much.
