Delivered Genuine HP - but different part number than advertised
The product web site prominently displays the part numbers 741727-001 and 740015-002 in at least three different places BUT shipped a 740015-003. I was specifically searching for HP Part Number 740015-002, Model HSTNN-CA40 genuine HP. This is what is advertised even though the picture in the web page does not show genuine HP on the example power brick. What I received however was 740015-003 Model HSTNN-DA40, it does have the HP logo and looks genuine. The power specifications ARE exactly the same input 100-240v 1.4A 50-60Hz, output 19.5v 2.31 amps, and the correct blue tip connector, so I have no concerns that it won't work. Advertise what you sell, or sell what you advertise.

NOT an HP product
So for the record, what I received was NOT a genuine HP product. It is exactly as you see in the photo. Manufacturer is Ac Bel. If you read the ad closely, it doesn't appear to say "Genuine HP" anywhere. It just says "HP" and "Genuine" in different places. To me, this is obliviously meant to mislead. Slimy, Amazon, but not surprising. That said, mine seems to work OK after a couple days. Others have not had the same luck. My recommendation is to give it a try, but keep all the packing and shipping material and if you have ANY problems, return it immediately.

Perfect original equipment replacement
My kitty gnawed through the plug that enters the laptop. Obviously, chargers won't work when the wires get broken! I ordered this [researching on HP's website for the model compatible with my laptop.] A perfect original equipment replacement. When a price is this reasonable for an original manufacturer replacement, I won't gamble with an after market knock-off.

Not HP-branded. Don't be fooled
This listing says genuine HP, but it definitely isn't. Don't pay the name-brand price for a knock-off. I'm not sure if I should plug this in to my laptop or not. Still debating. Probably will return it to the liars who set up this listing.

DO NOT BUY... UNSAFE... ...
DO NOT BUY...UNSAFE...bought one for my nephew, and it sparked, then blew up, almost electrocuting him. I would have returned it, but there wasn't much left, so he threw it away.

Screen fades in and out while charging.
Though the part number described matches my original charge cord exactly, this item causes my HP's screen to fade in and out while charging. Screen fade did not happen with the original cord.

Cord didn’t last
Have had this cord 3 years. After one year, noticed plastic covering pulling away .: so reinforced with electrical tape. I have never had a cord like this “break”. Only reason bought this one was that puppy had chewed original. I rarely coiled/wrapped cord up for travel, etc … typically left straight and plugged into outlet. Not impressed.
