It's thinner so the pen if you use a pen, bleeds through. It tears easily if you are not careful when it's in the binder. BUT, it's filler paper... It does its job. The Five Star Mead Paper in the picture behind it was $3.47 for 100 pages. I use about 100 pages for studying and homework for ONE chapter.
