Bosch makes nice quality products. Their laser measure tapes are no exception. This little unit is compact, and has a solid feel of quality. I have owned multiple of these lasers. This one is for my daughter that just graduated as an engineer (proud dad moment). We looked at a lot of options on amazon and google for that matter, but the bosch laser measurer just offered a great quality for a great price. Amazon had the best value for this product and had quick shipping to be here for my daughter's bday. Battery life is sufficient. Easy to change AA batteries. Battery last months with regular use. While I wouldn't recommend continuous dropping, it has survived drops out of pockets and falls from table height level and has had no issues. It makes measuring spaces quite easy. It made my tape measure obsolete. The laser measurer has precise measurements and is very accurate. Overall, this is a great unit, great quality, and a great price. I have and will be buying more for my other kids.

All I can say is WOW! I'm not new to using laser measuring tools and have found them to be very useful and time-saving. However, this particular one is so much better than anything I've used before. Most importantly (for me) is the amazingly large, bright, and clear screen! The numbers are large, bold, clear, and super easy to read. This thing is night and day better than the one I was using, which just has small rows of numbers on an LCD display. That one can also display the measurements in multiple ways, just like this one, however, the only one I could really see well was displaying in inches, as the fraction display was so small. On the Bosch, that's not an issue. All modes are easy to read, including feet, inches, and fraction. You can change not only the unit, but also the way it's displayed, for example, you can have the result displayed just like on a tape. I like the inch and fraction mode the best though. The contrast in the display is really amazing; blacks are super black, and whites and colors are bright and vibrant. The numbers are also easy to read, even at an angle. One thing I noticed is that whatever unit display mode you select, if you then select the tape display option, it will display on the tape view based on the unit display you selected. For example, if you choose feet, inches, and fraction, the tape will start the inches over at 1 for each foot, but if you select inches and fraction, it will display like most tapes do, where the inches continue to increment. I actually really like that view a lot, as it is very familiar. Also, the green laser dot is so bright and easy to see, even in bright light. I never had too much of an issue with my red ones, but the green is definitely much better. The other thing I love about this one is that continuous measuring is the default, so you don't have to press and hold a button to enable and disable it. Press measure once to start measuring and it's in continuous mode, press again to lock in the reading. Quick and simple. Other than that, the unit runs on two AA batteries, which are included. The manual and some reviews indicate it can also be charged via USB-C but I don't think that's the case. Also, the manual references it having a digital bubble level, which it also does not appear to have. I'm thinking it must be differences in the various models that are all referenced in this manual. I think it must be the GLM165-27CGL that has both the digital level and the rechargeable battery. I would have liked having the level built in, but guess it's not a deal breaker. That model is about $50 more, so if you want those features, it may be worth the extra price.

WOW! I am so impressed with this thing. I should have bought one years ago! Haha just try to measure the height of a ceiling from the floor, in the middle of a room, with a measuring tape. :) The beam bounces off surfaces just fine. I bought it mostly for inside measurements. But I went outside to try measuring the width of the yard, by shining the beam at a wooden fence on one side. I first tried part way across and it worked! 142 ft. So then I went all the way to the fence on the other side to try measuring the full with. Display said "error"! I was thinking "yep, these things probably don't really go as far as they say". So then I walked forward to find the point where it would start measuring. Display lights up with "164.8 ft". Oops! :) The problem wasn't this unit, the problem was the yard was wider than 165 ft and I didn't know it. :P I think they have it cut off at 165 in software, knowing beyond that the accuracy would be less. Well was still useful, I just measured the remaining 12 feet or so of yard width with a tape measure. This works bouncing the beam off tree trunks, the chimney, brick, and of course inside wall surfaces. The green dot is easy to see, even at the 165 ft in the daytime. Having used this I'm skeptical I would have been able to see a red dot at 165 in the day. Impressed that it has a rubber gasket around the battery compartment door! Really is IP68. Super easy to use and figure out. I got it turned on and measuring without even reading the instructions year. The green button does both. The vibration feedback is great too, like a cell phone. No compliants of any kind! Reccommended A++++

Probably a very good device but the manual is appalling and working out the different functions takes way longer than it should, simply because there are no clear instructions. The on line manual is next to useless (mostly filled with warnings about pointing lasers at people etc.) and the quick start up instructions in the box are about as obscure as they can get. I am very familiar with complex systems and how to use them (I am a computer systems and electronics specialist), but this one took way longer to sort out than it should. Although I did not want the BT connection option, it is not readily apparent which model supports it from the on line info, but a review of the included quick start eventually shows you what functions your model has. Pity you trying to work out this in advance. e.g. I had no idea there was a model with a lithium ion battery. The unit, once you have worked out how to make it work, is very accurate and the green laser is so much better than the red laser models. I still haven't worked out how to make it add measurements together for things like lights around a deck, but you can store each measurement and then add them up manually. Clearing the stored data requires you to work out a) how to get to the option to delete stored items and then which button deletes them rather than going back to Home Screen or turning the thing off. Pros: 1. Well built and solid. 2. Excellent green laser which is easy to see in most conditions. 3. Compact size. 4. Very accurate. 5. Lots of functionality if you can find it. 6. Runs on standard AA batteries. Not sure if the Lithium Ion option is an add on or you have to select it at purchase. Cannot comment on battery life as I have not had it long enough. 7. Clear color display. 8. Compact size. Cons: 1. Terrible manuals and instructions. 2. Not intuitive to use (buttons have odd functions in various modes). 3. Not clear which model you have purchased. 4. Buttons sometimes a little difficult to operate. Overall, probably one the best you can buy if you can work out how to get the best out of it (and the You Tube stuff is mostly reviews on how good it is and nothing about how to use, presumably most people are much cleverer than I am).

I've been using the this for a few months now, and it's become one of those tools I grab without even thinking twice. The green laser is a huge step up from the old red ones. it's way brighter and easier to see, even in decent daylight or bigger rooms. It's a good size that fits perfectly in the hand. It feels solid in the hand, good weight, easy to carry. The buttons are straightforward and simple enough. Accuracy has been pretty good. It’s not perfect but it’s a legitimately useful upgrade that’s saved me a ton of time and hassle on multiple projects. Pretty durable and survived a couple of drops. It's pricey for sure but with how convenient it has been, definitely glad I picked it up.

This Bosch green laser is quite useful both inside and outside measuring length. Accuracy seems to be spot on my use. The number of options in how to read and the type of measurements are more than plenty for me. A little pricey but seems to be worth the cost. I dropped it a few times without any effects. Bought to mainly install LED ceiling lights but is handy.

I’ve been using this laser for several months now and I’m very impressed with the quality and accuracy. I measure windows and doors for a living and this makes it a breeze, especially on the larger windows. It also makes me look fancy too, which is definitely a plus. I love how you can set the mode to round up to the nearest 1/16 of an inch, 1/8 of an inch, 1/4 inch or, 1/2 inch. Really easy to function and the battery life seems to hold up very well. Very quick and accurate measurements with easy to see bright red laser.
