Review: Simple but Accurate Temperature and Humidity Monitor with Magnetic Mounts - I am using two TP50s to monitor temp and humidity in a 40 foot shipping container. They are very simple and fast to install: The meters have a magnet on the back that allows them to be mounted to the sides of the container without any modifications to the container nor any marring to the surface paint (the backs of the units are smooth plastic). The TP50s are simple to operate: put in batteries, use the magnet to stick to a surface, and the current temperature and humidity and the all-time high and low temperature and humidity (extremes) can be viewed on the front display. (There is also a face representing a "comfort level"). The all-time high and low temperature and humidity are retained until the units memory is cleared by depressing and holding a button on the back or removing the batteries. The TP50s that I ordered are very minimalistic. No connectivity. They have no remote monitoring capability. No long-term trending. No Apps. They are just simple temperature and humidity meters that display current values and track all-time high and lows. Even though the TP50s are simple, both units that I purchased gave similar readings for both temperature and humidity to our more expensive weather station. The readings were not exactly the same but within 1 degree on temperature and 1% on humidity. After several weeks of use in the containers, both units (which were initially placed next to each other), have tracked within 1 degree of temperature and 1% of humidity to each other with temperature swings from 11 degrees to 99 degrees and humidity swings from 11% to 54%. As long as they continue to function for a reasonable period of time, they work for my application (tracking the temperature and humidity at both inside ends of a 40 foot shipping container) and I am happy with the purchase.

**Q: Has anyone had this long enough to know if the battery will last at least one year?**
A: I've had mine for over a year and it's still going...
I've had other battery powered products from a seller and the batteries lasted only a few weeks...
It's because the batteries have been installed in that device since the assembly line...If by chance they don't put the little plastic strip between the negative side and the device, the batteries will go bad...

**Q: Any way to calibrate temperature?**
A: Calibrate means that you adjust your measuring tool (e.g. thermometer, hygrometer, speedometer, etc.) to give a known value when it's measuring (detecting) that value; you usually do this by adjusting a screw or other mechanism that results in the unit showing a 'reading', or measurement, of that known value on its display or output.  This unit does NOT have any calibration adjustment.

**Q: What do the low and high represent...is it for the last 24 hours?**
A: As several others have said, it's the HIGH & LOW since it was reset. To reset, HOLD the button marked F/C until it resets. Each time that button is pressed, the displayed temperature changes between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

**Q: is this made in usa**
A: In China. I bought 3 of them, but don't find them useful. The setting for humid, dry, comfort is inaccurate for a relativity level reading in a home environment. At least in the Midwest region. They say 49% is dry when in fact it's too much for a home to carry, at least in the winter colder temps.

I purchased the TempPro TP50 Digital Hygrometer after my incubator stopped displaying temperature and humidity readings, and it has been working perfectly as a replacement monitor. When you are incubating eggs, accuracy is everything, so I needed something dependable and easy to read right away.
