Still Turning: A History of Aermotor Windmills

A very comprehensive history.
A very comprehensive history including some ancient history of windmills in general and the development that led to the classic Aermotor. A lot of detail about the people that ran company and its descendants. I would have liked more dimensional engineering detail. A scale drawing of the commonest 8ft wheel windpump on a 4 leg tower would have improved the book for me. Quite expensive.

History of an American success
I greatly appreciate the in-depth history of this innovative American company. Many illustrations, diagrams, and photos (all black and white), and extensive information on the changes made to equipment as resources changed during war time. For those who have moved to a rural location with an old windmill in the landscape, this book can give you an even greater appreciation for this wind technology.

An in-depth study beautifully done.
This outstanding in-depth study is beautifully done. Part of its importance is the difference Aermotor windmills have made in our rural setting where providing water everywhere is vastly important. Mr. Gillis' work is valuable and I appreciate the influence Dr. T. Lindsay Baker had in helping creat this worthy piece of work. The author's depth is amazing and enjoyable at the same time.
