Aria's Desire (Taken Series Book 5)

So very rewarding!
I have been intrigued by Rellik and Thrasin since they were first introduced. Now, on Aria’s mission to gather allies for their cause, we learn much more about them. I can understand why Aria has doubts and concerns about adding to her family. Even with her amazing team, being in charge is a huge responsibility. I love watching them discovering each other! This is an epic story. The Queendoms have a unique culture - fascinating! Troop training is exciting. Four fantastic warriors, each with unique abilities...and they all treasure Aria. Lucky woman! I love reading this: never a dull moment!

I just love Aria
Aria has been my favorite character since I first picked up her book. She's a total alpha woman, and gets things done. Even though sometimes she forgets that it's okay for a leader/queen to rely on others. I loved watching her develop her relationships with other two men. She's utterly devoted to her Firefly and Demon, but that's the thing about love, you can always open your heart more, if you're willing to put yourself out there. And what can I say? I just love Sin to pieces. It was awesome to see how he progressed as a character over the progression of this series.Highly recommend this series.

Another great book
This book was great, it still had all the adventure and fighting as the others but was more about Asia's emotional development.

For the series as a whole I’d give five stars.
On the whole Ms. Jones gives us a layered storyline with depth ,that’s fun and engaging and interesting. But as a “romance” I found it severely lacking . Aria is seemingly self awareand she’s intelligent and brave. Quite fearless when it comes to a fight. When lives are in danger,Aria is there in a heartbeat willing to jump off the highest cliff ( it seems) if need by to save others.ButBut if it’s her heart on the line,if it’s her emotions at stake,it’s a complete and total about face. Aria becomes dumb, fearful, stupidly self absorbed and can’t seem to see her nose despite her face. Now as much as I was bothered at her inability to face this ,to deal with Rel and Sin in her last book I did understand that the guys needed time and some patience. That said Aria felt like she was running from them for more of her own reason than their most of the time .The guys needed to heal. Yes. Full stop. But there’s nothing to say they couldn’t have continued to do so after a good deep,at least five minutes of conversation about how she loved them and they her and how everyone was ok with them being together. E v e r y o n e!!!!!!Everyone in their new little settlement and their brother but especially her other two mates . Kix and Tirox are all for it.But do these fools sit this emotional dummy down and tell her ?No of course not . Too easy . I didn’t enjoy myself here. I kept waiting and waiting for Aria to grow some emotional bravery and sense . She knew on some levels she was hurting both her mates ( current and future) by dragging this out. The men had no problems talking to each other. They were on the same page it seemed and knew what they wanted . But Aria hemmed and hawed and waited til, around 75% of the book to finally get a freakin clue . Dear lord, that was drug out too long. Now Ms. Jones did a great job in my opinion developing everything else. The story and all the peoples and their issues and problems and awesome lil secondary characters was great!!!!!!But at the end of the day this is supposed to be a RH romance and Aria being allowed to be soo willingly and stubbornly blind to her actions or inactions and the cost to herself and then she claims to care about and love was just too much. The stress of waiting for this stupid B to get a F’ing clue really took a lot of the fun out of it for me. Also I don’t agree that it’s ok to be that fearless w/your body but that timid w/your heart. Destroy my body but don’t risk my heart ? That’s too cowardly to be considered Bad A for me.Ps. Love, love all her men but Tirox with his understanding ways and wit and outrageous sense of humor was my fave. That guy was it for me. Understanding alpha type with a great sense of humor. I want him ;)I hope Spar is next, coz that girl sounds like she has a story and a half to tell.

My heart is so full with feelings
The first two books of Aria's story in the Taken series were action-packed and highlighted her fighting and leading abilities. In Aria's Desire, Ms. Jones hits us with more of the emotional aspects of Aria's journey. There's still some highlighting of her fighting abilities and leadership, but what shines in this book are the connections between Aria and each of her guys. The book starts where book 4 (the end of Victoria's books) left off (and we do get to see peeks of Victoria which is one of the things about this series being about multiple pairings/groupings I already love). Aria gets an invite to one of the Queendoms of Rellik's people. She's still experiencing the push/pull with Sin and Rellik and there are also challenges that Kix and Tirox are experiencing because of Kix's enhanced abilities. As in prior books, we have some tensions that are caused by communication issues and others by cultural differences and then some just that natural male/female thinking difference.Once at the Queendom, there are politics and figuring out if an alliance would work or not, but more importantly, there's relationship building and growth. There's communication and progress and STEAM cause whew, the tension between Aria and her final two guys was so much! I love how Ms. Jones builds both her worlds and characters with depth and care. The emotional aspects of their relationships are individual to each character and when you expand that to include five characters, I appreciated the natural way that each step evolved and unfolded. Sin and Rellik especially were on a journey to heal from their pasts and Aria had mental roadblocks up that needed to come down but in a way that made sense. She's not a perfect character herself and she makes mistakes and has flaws especially while navigating love, which made her more relatable in this book.I finished Aria's Desire earlier today and I still feel mushy and warm over Aria's whole journey and the ending of her story. At the same time, this is such a big world with lots of possibilities of future characters to follow and I cannot wait!
