Does this fit regular sized sketching pencils?

No, pencils are about 1 1/2 inches too long to fit in the bin.

Can this be used for acrylic paint pots, and to help keep them from drying out?

don't think so.. it's not airtight.

Do permanent dividers run the full length of the box (14")? I need it to hold my pipe cleaners for crafting. Thank you

The only full length (15”) is the thread area. But the tray is removable. The other sections are unmovable. The other dividers are 7-1!2” and 3-3/4”.

Approximately how many pens can you reasonably fit in this box?

Depending on the size of the pen, (the longer the pen: there are the two ends of the box that are slightly longer or smaller the pen: the 4 middle compartments can hold) maybe about 5-7 pens per compartment.
