I love Daniel Smith watercolors. The majority of the line is vegan (all but 3 colors containing the PBK-9 pigment) as it contains no ox-gall or animal-based wetting agents or binders. The quality of the paints are top-notch and they handle beautifully. This quin purple is no exception. The color is stunning. It’s a must have for any botanical color palette. This color is also rated as lightfast, which is very important me to me when selecting colors, for the longevity of my work. I’ll definitely buy this color again when the current tube (eventually) runs out. This is now a staple color in both my studio and field palettes. I love it.

I like the variety of colors as well as the excellent quality of these paints! I am sure there are more expensive paints, but I like these so much that I stopped looking for other tubes of paint.In addition, the tubes are completely full! When opening, you can put the extra paint in a ceramic paint tray for use at any time. Just add a bit of water until you have your desired intensity of paint, according to your use.
