Q: My almost 3 year old is 3 foot 2 inches tall and 40 pounds. Would a size 5 fit him.

I'd recommend the 6...the pj's fit a bit snug, and even if a bit big now for your son, he will grow into them. They wash well, are super soft and last! I even got an adult pair for myself. 😉 Our favorite pj's by far.

Q: What does it mean that the "purest layer" is gots certified? is only some of the fabric certified? if so, what is the other fabric made of?

It is absolutely certified ~ I won’t buy any other pajamas for my grandaughter!!

Q: How much do these shrink after washing?

I didn’t notice it shrink at all.
