Easy to set up and works a treat
I’ve used a few of these Tapo bulbs now and they’re always spot on. This 2-pack is great value and, like the others, they were really simple to get connected to the Wi-Fi without any fussing about. The app is straightforward to use and the colours are brilliant—you can get the lighting exactly how you want it. They’re reliable too; I’ve not had any issues with them dropping out or losing connection. If you have the capability to add these to a dedicated 2.4ghz Wi-Fi network then you'll definitely benefit from that, but if not, don't worry as they still work fine on normal Wi-Fi. If you’re looking to smarten up your lighting, you can’t go wrong with these.

lovely smart bulb
I bought these bulbs as white lights are very harsh on my eyes and having the ability to change the light to warm is very appealing to me. It is very easy to use. I have connected mine to my Alexa so I don’t have to move to turn it on. It also has the abilities to change to any other colour. I have an experienced any flickering or problems of that sort.

Does the job
Works well, app easy to set up and bulb likewise. A good budget friendly bulb which is useful for shift workers as you can set it up to be on at certain times

Do easy to use
This is nowy fifth Tapo device, and once you set up the first, all others take seconds to set up in the app. Alexa set up is immediate and works well. Google seems to be trickier and flakier, once set up with Google you need to go into Google home, select the d vice again, and then it is set up, not just when you add it to Google in the TAPO app. I cannot speak to the usage time as yet as I have only had my Tapo devices for a couple of months for the old st, however if I find any issues I will update this review. Tips if this is your first TAPO device: 1: download the app first, before turning anything on, plugging anything in. 2: Turn " location" on your phone on, the app asks like it is an option but the software cannot "pair" the device without location, don't ask me why, makes no sense to me either, I have already written to the developers to ask them to fix this but had no reply as yet. 3: if you are adding to Alexa, simply follow the in app instructions. If you are adding to Google ( so you can say ok Google , Turn living room lights off) then follow the in app instructions, and then when set up is completed, go to the Google home app on your phone, and add the device there too, otherwise Google won't find it/ them. 4: leave your wall switch on, because it's only function now is to power the device, the wall switch will not turn the lights on any more, use Alexa/ Google commands or the app on your phone. If you switch the wall switch off, Google/ Alexa and the app will not be able to turn the lights on. I have been reassured by the manufacturer that when Google/ Alexa or the app turn the lights off, they are no longer drawing power, so leaving the wall switch on will not cost you money if you told the light to be off. Update: One thing to note is that if you change your wifi, you need to add each device back again so have your wifi password memorized. A tip for people in older properties with different wiring looms... To reset your tapi device ces ( bulbs, light strips) you follow a little game of " off and on" in the app. That means s it plays a little animation of a bulb with the light on and the light off and you have to manually turn the light switch on and off 3 times for a soft reset or 5 times for a hard reset, in time with the animation. If your wiring looms is a tad older, you might find this doesn't work, and if you contact support they advise you to manually unscrew and screw in the bulb in time with the animation to ensure that when the animation says off, your bulb is disconnected and actually off, however... I found that you can forge tottering on a stepladder to faff about with the bulbs, simply by slowing everything down, turn the light on when it says, turn it off when it says but keep it off for 4 seconds, or two " off " animations, repeat twice more for a soft reset and works like a charm. Now I don't know why, but my father who is an engineer said something about the old wiring but then got technical and my brain turned off, but this method worked for me, I told support what arrived had done to solve the issue ( because the regular soft reset worked fine in parts of the house and I realised where it was working were areas where the electrical wiring looms had been changed, where it wasn't working are areas still on the old electrical) and I mention it here in case anyone else is having difficulty after a wifi change or their soft reset isn't working or their hard reset isn't working, my method might work for you and may be preferable to unscrewing and screwing back in all your bulbs. Hope that makes sense.

High quality and reliable
Very reliable! I use one in my daughter’s bedroom and another one has been integrated with HA which paired with a zigbee motion sensor and works perfectly! It has a powerful app and easy to pair and use! And also it is compatible with HA as I said before. I bought one pair last week. I tested them and I bought another pair today!

First impressions review - brilliant
I guess this has a dedicated white as well as colour LEDs inside as the light at 2500k is ideal for bedrooms and goes way dimmer than my old smart whites bought a decade ago. The colour variations might come in use but not sure when. Still a nice bonus. A reviewer said it was useless as you could only change colour without granularity. Not true, but you have to use the app to get the full spectrum from faded colours to intensly saturated ones. Setup compared to my old ones was a breeze and works well with nest. these have more controls such as random on-offs over time period and wattage consumed meter over days weeks etc, plus programmable colour/temp presets. The only thing my old ones do better is going down to candlelight warm at 1800k but I think I might be able to fake it by adding a touch of yellow/orange. Firmly recommended especially if you prioritise white light from warm to cold daylight.

Fantastic.
I have a dual 2.4 and 5GHz NOW router. I have a Tapo security camera, 4 of their smart plugs and now 3 of their B22 colour change light bulbs. They all work almost flawlessly and have never randomly shut off or gone wild. The bulbs all set up first time within a couple of minutes. I live in a small 2 bedroom, semi-detached house and find one bulb per room excellent in terms of brightness. I love the colour change ability and feel like the cooler, daylight mode helps with the winter blues on grey days. I have scheduled the bedroom light to come on at 6am with my alarm during the week. In auto mode it starts at 5% brightness and mirrors natural light, which is ample and gentler on the eyes when you're waking up. I don't use Alexa but using the Google voice commands on my phone is great. You need to link and organise your Tapo devices within Google Home before you can do this. This is straightforward in the app, but remember to redo it if you move the bulbs around. I've also been able to share all my Tapo devices with my girlfriend so she can control them too. You can still turn the light on/off at the manual switch. Just be aware that turning off at the switch will disconnect the bulb until you turn it back on at the switch. You can set the default "on" state so that every time you turn on at the physical switch it will instantly go to that same brightness and colour setting like a normal light. There may be a short delay in controllability on the app whilst it reconnects. If you frequently want to control the light from another room or whilst away, don't use the physical switch.

Good product, questionable lifespan
Nice and easy to set up in the Tapo app, controllable by both Alexa and Google, and works well with any custom Alexa routines. Not particularly bright, but does the job. I bought a two-pack of these to replace another TP-Link bulb that had failed after 7 years from the Kasa range, which seems to be getting less love in favour of Tapo by the company. Annoyingly, the first bulb failed after only 12 months, nowhere near the 15,000 hours it is rated for, which, given my usage, should have lasted about 5 years. I also bought some Tapo spotlights, and I had to replace one of them within a year or so, so I'm not convinced these are as good as the Kasa range. Maybe just some bad luck, but I'll see if any more fail, as the product is good when it works.

Look at the plug
Before buying make sure you want the ones with the correct connection, these aren't normal screw on bulbs.
