Let me give you some background. I’m middle eastern. That means I tan well but have two different skin tones; my January skin and my July skin. I wear a watch and I’ve been out of the sun since September. My tan hasn’t totally faded but the lighter band, that’s my real skin color. That’s how I want to be all over. I always try to make better choices in my skin products. I have tried so many mineral based sunscreens for my face and body but I usually end up returning to a chemical based one for several reasons. HOWEVER, I have finally found the product I’ve been searching for. Blue Lizard leaves no white cast on my skin. It’s easy to rub in. It also does not get trapped in my dense, black eyebrows the way other products did. It would gross me out and look like I had flakes in my eyebrows. I just spent the week at Universal Studios and I did not burn. I didn’t tan either, which is great. Tanning is also a sign of sun damage. Chemical or mineral sunscreens often prevent sunburn but I still tan. I don’t want either. I am sold and will continue to buy this product. I feel great about that it has safer and better quality ingredients.

This sunscreen has worked well for me and I like that it is a mineral formula. The main thing to know is that it can take a little effort to rub in fully so you do not see it on your skin, but I do not consider that a major problem. That is pretty normal with many mineral sunscreens, and I would rather deal with that than use something that does not agree with my skin. Once applied, I have been happy with it and have no real complaints. Overall, it has been a good face sunscreen for me.

I bought the Sheer 50 Blue Lizard because I hate the pinkish residue I always get on my face from sunscreen, but I also have very sensitive skin so I didn't know if it would work for me. [All the other sunscreens I have purchased in the past irritated my skin and made my face look pink.]. It turns out that the Sheer Blue Lizard does not irritate my face at all, and it is completely clear and easy to put on. I wore it for about 6 hours walking in the sun and around different places and I got no color, etc. from the sun. This is a great product and I highly recommend it! In fact I'm going to purchase another container of the Sheer Blue Lizard!

Excellent sun protection, though it does take some effort to apply. The texture is thick and needs to be rubbed in thoroughly. Even then, expect a light white sheen, which is pretty typical for mineral sunscreens. Worth it for the reef-safe formula. The scent is fine.

I'm trying to be on top of my sunscreen application after YEARS of never wearing it. My skin is extremely sensitive and prone to eczema. Any chemical sunscreen that was applied to my body (especially the elbow/knee pits) would cause me to break out in horrible eczema patches. I switched to mineral sunscreen, but everything left a ghostly white sheen. Luckily, this sunscreen does exactly as advertised. I've been using it daily for a week straight, and I have had no problems with it. The consistency of this product is thick, kinda sticky at first, and a bit hard to blend/spread out, but I think that's bound to happen with any sunscreen that's actually protective. It may also seem that it leaves a white cast initially, but after letting it dry for a minute or two, it becomes clear. Overall I can't recommend this enough, and I'm glad to finally have a sensitive-skin-friendly mineral sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast :)

This works well but is not ideal if you want to wear under makeup. It has a very oily consistency. Price is good.

Doesn't irritate the skin nor the areas adjacent to the eyes. Very nice.

Blue Lizard is a brand I trust for sun protection, not convenience. I am trying different mineral-based face sunscreens for everyday wear under make-up that provides protection, minimal white casting, easy to spread, etc. I will NOT be using for that purpose. It is easy to spread, did leave minimal white casting, and I have no doubts about its sun protection. But it leaves your face SO SHINY. I tried to minimize the shine by putting a light layer of foundation (older skin, don't want to use too much), and some powder to mattify it. Nope. While it does diminish some, that shine comes through. And it's not the "glow" shine, either. It's the greasy skin shine. I will be keeping it because I do trust Blue Lizard and I use it for my kids, so I will be using it for my kids this summer when we hit the beach.

Very little white cast on darker skin tones. The white cast will “melt” into your skin after an hour of wear. Very good for those who need a mineral sunscreen but are worried about white cast due to highly delaminated skin tones

I am a fan of Blue Lizard brand. But the packaging for item is questionable.
