I was warned it was tiny and looked at dimensions. To play the song you have to continuously crank it; you can not wind it and have it play on its own. For that reason I am returning it.

     Wasn't sure really how big or small this music box was going to be but to me, it's perfect size. Love the craftsmanship on this. The etchings on the top and sides are very detailed and beautiful. Really easy to use. As you can see in the video, the volume on this is fairly loud, especially when you're up close. The detail on this is amazing and absolutely love the color. Was thinking about staining it but after seeing it in person, I just love the natural look of it. It's a very simplistic box but the music that comes out of it is beautiful. Was supposed to be a gift for someone but decided to keep it for myself. Really easy to clean/dust off. I do keep it closed while I have it on display to ensure that no dust gets inside of the mechanism.

I liked the design of the box even more when I received it. The writing is a little small but you can read it for your mother if that's a problem. Only issue is that I thought  it was a case where the box would automatically play the music once you turn the know a few times but no, you will have to continue to turn the know at a moderate speed to get to hear the song. Still a pretty cool box tho.
