I'd use polyester 40 or 50 weight using a size 90 needle. It has worn well for me!

I assume you’re referencing the 6 yards description ? It’s yards. Like most fabric, they are often measured and sold in yards. So 18 feet. It’s a good size roll.

what is the d ring for? It's not shown in the instructions

As with our other product, the buckles and strap set of 1.5inchs, shown in the 6th picture in the link(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FFKCLD7)， for extending and splitting three ways, the 1-inch D-ring is more of a decoration, mounted on the strap, Available for hanging light items.
