This is suitable for preschool through primary as you could choose to read just the top sentences or add the bottom paragraphs. There is a lot of factual information and yet the rhythmic telling is engaging. I have had great success with it with mixed ages and abilities.

This was exactly the book I was looking for to read with my preschoolers as we were learning about winter animals.

A wonderful book that touches on the way various animals prepare and survive the winter. The rhyming flow of this book is great and makes a fun easy read. It is a nice introductory book for kids to learn about hibernation, migration and adaption. The images are bright and beautiful. I love this book and so does my 5year old daughter.

I liked the dual text in the book. The simple sentences make a nice read-aloud, and the more complex information provides extra details if I want to incorporate that when spending more time on a particular animal.
