Curate's egg
Only had this a few hours as yet, but here goes...Sound quality for spoken word books is excellent. Haven't rumbled how to use the radio function, and can't yet comment about that, as the instruction leaflet is THE LEAST HELPFUL I'VE EVER SEEN.A lot of guesswork went into finding how to Pause the device in order to continue listening from where I left off.Eventually found it tends to repeat the last few sentences heard--perhaps returning to the start of the chapter? I am optimistic I'll find out more tricks to make this a useful toy which will carry out the functions I require--ie: listening to MP3 books. It seems sturdy enough to withstand my experimentations, but a better instruction book would have endeared it to me more. Now listened to a whole book---55 chapters-- and found the GROOVE wonderful. Have let it slip off my lap and panicked, but there was no loss of sound or 'hiccups'. Delighted..even got the hang of the instruction leaflet! No reservations.

Disaster
Am now very disappointed with this CD Player - I would like some contact with the seller to explain the problems of this machine. It does not now work properly and as I have had an accident and need the CD to listen to books while recuperating am not a happy customer. It will not start unless I push the button numerous times, it then will not stop! It keeps dropping out and missing various chapters of a book I am listening to so am forever having to rewind. After the initial thoughts which were good, am now totally fed up with it and would either like to get a refund or replacement.Even more disappointed as having sent me the wrong item as replacement, they have now sold out. Dreadful incompetence. Suggest you don't buy anything from this company. At least they had the decency to refund my money, better late than never.

What a disappointment!
This is the second time in 3 months that I've bought a personal CD player for my wife. The first one didn't work and some bits were loose, so I returned if for a refund. Having looked to see whether I could get something better without breaking the bank, I opted for this one.Because she has lost her sight, she can no longer read books. Audiobooks and other CDs have become an essential part of her life, but she wants to be sufficiently self-sufficient that she can operate the player on her own with only marginal help from someone else. The control buttons/toggles are not sufficiently visible. I agree with her on that. The details in the instruction are too small.More seriously, the player keeps on stopping. At first, we thought this was because the batteries were depleted. I put new, unused batteries in but often the player would work for 15 - 25 minutes before stopping again. The CDs were ones that play flawlessly on a mid-sized player and also on the car radio. Stupidly, it was bought elsewhere and not through Amazon. A lesson for me there!

I am severely disappointed. Although I was expecting a "hold" function
I am severely disappointed. Although I was expecting a "hold" function, it was not part of the description so that's my fault. However, the battery consumption is incredibly poor, with 2 Duracell batteries not lasting even 2 hours (twice). Steer clear unless you use DC from the mains.

Better instructions to save radio station if you want to use radio
The item was fine and good for the price for playing CD's The radio was also good but some difficulty in the saving of radio station in a 1.2, 3 etc order, the instructions could be better. The main reason I bought the item was for CD's and was happy with that and, would but again for that reason
