The Blue Pure 211+ is amazing! I used to get sick every other month or sooner. I decided to get this air purifier and I was able to extend my "no-cold-or-cough" stint from ~1 month to ~1 year 3 months. It was amazing what this air purifier did for me.The pre-filter is an essential part of this air purifier and it should not be ignored. I recommend not operating the air purifier without the pre-filter. I also recommend having multiple pre-filters handy so you can replace the dirty pre-filter immediately and not have the air purifier sitting without the pre-filter. Especially keep the pre-filter on when you're dusting/vacuuming the house.The reason is simple. The pre-filter does it's job exceedingly well. For my old, tiny apartment with high pile carpet, the pre-filter accumulates enough dust over a 1-2 month period to be replaced. The dust that settles on the pre-filter is terrifying -- a visible, thick layer of dust that I don't see on any other surface. Imagine if that dust went into the air purifier! That would put more pressure on the inside HEPA filter (which is much more expensive and has to be replaced). That may also mean that you might have to clean the inside of the air purifier much more thoroughly and often, which would be hassle. I also imagine that without this air purifier, at least some of that thick layer of dust entered my lungs -- no wonder I was getting sick all the time.Finally, on the pre-filter colors. These colors really add accent to my tiny apartment. You may even find some pre-filter colors uplifting. The blue looks cool/relaxing and the black looks regal (though that might be the childhood artist in me). The green and black colors are thicker/denser/opaque and you barely see grill the pre-filter covers. The yellow on the other hand is more translucent and you can see the grill. This makes the air filter look like a beehive :) See for yourself.

I like this fabric trap, it collects a lot of dust and other airborne pollutants. It protects the inner filter so it stays cleaner longer. Twice a month I vacuum the exterior of the unit and the fabric after first unplugging the unit. Approximately every 3 month, I unplug the unit, release the upper section from the lower part and remove the fabric and replace it. I machine wash it and lay it on a drying rack to dry.

Product arrived swiftly and as advertised.

These filters are vastly improved. Thicker and sturdier. I’m impressed!
