Had one of these cables fall apart and so this purchase was to replace that. It works perfectly over USB 3.0 with my external hard drive. Highly recommended!

Some external devices are provided with quite short data cables. Sometimes they are captive and a male-to-female extension will be required when its length causes issues but, if the cable is free, a longer version may be more convenient than adding the extension. It is for that reason that the "USB 3.0 Micro Cable 2M, Tan QY Super Speed USB 3.0 A Male to Micro B External Hard Drive Cable Cord with Gold-Plated Connectors for Galaxy S5, Note 3, Camera and More (2M/6Ft, Grey)" is required, with no others of a similar length otherwise available as a spare.The brand is not previously known but the cable is similar to others that are differently branded although its outer casing is not woven fabric but a rubbery material such as PU. Long-term preference is to use two brands for most cable requirements when they can fill a specific need, but neither was obviously available when the need arose.Both ends include strain relief although it is quite minimal at both ends and could usefully and functionally be longer. Its connectors are gold-plated to help ensure the best possible and most reliable connections. Pricing is to current levels which are significantly raised relative to those of a few months ago.Although the cable is not yet extensively used, the connected device is working normally and transfer of data are conducted at a comparable speed to those that applied with the original OEM cable although variable from moment to moment and with different files or formats.

Appears tp be well made but has not been used for long enough for durability and reliability to be assessed.

Just works no issues.

Did not work i plugged it into my 2TB seagate external storage device and the device never turned on put the original back in and it worked again not happy
