As a new Kindergarten teacher, this book was a great help in how to set up our classroom environment and still cover the curriculum required. I am totally into teaching reading using the children's own writing and doing away with basal readers altogether. This was a well thought out and written guidebook that helped me make it all work!

This is a great resource for new teachers on the grade. I was previously a middle school teacher and chose to go down to lower grades but there were no 2nd, 3rd or 4th grades available, only kindergarten. I freaked out!!! I needed some help!! This book provided the help that I needed. It gives you information on starting the year, teaching with morning meeting,centers,themes--- An excellent resource for a teacher who knows nothing about kindergarten.

This book is awesome. I like how it broken into sections and gives ideas for different areas. I use it in my Transitional Kindergarten classroom. I feel that anyone in the lower grades PreK-1 could find this helpful. Adapt where necessary and use what works for your classroom.

I am a teacher in my 13th year, now entering Kindergarten for the first time. I found this book to be soooo helpful, in all areas of teaching. Great for class management as well as literacy and numeracy. Love this book!!!!!

I've used this book for my classroom since the first day of school. As a first year teacher I was stressed about how to start and what to do. This book lined everything out and gave loads of ideas.

Although the author presented a developmentally appropriate and ideal kindergarten classroom , as a kindergarten teacher in California this book offered little to help me. In California we teacher the Common Core standards. These standards were not addressed at all. I came away with some new ideas but overall I can't say this book was helpful.
