Nothing but a re-release of an already published book!
While the story may be good . . . the 1 star rating is because it's HIGHLY disappointing that the 1st four books of this series were all originally published in 2014/2015 timeframe. I only ordered this book because Amazon was representing it as a "new release" and now upon receipt I realize I ALREADY HAVE IT, just with the older/original cover. Of course Amazon (and possibly the author) doesn't even care, they just want to sell the book. It appears the only REAL new release is the book 5 novella, which is a thin, large paperback. Now I just have to decide if I want to pay for returning 2 book I don't need because I already have them!!!!!!!!

Colin and Margaret
Colin Cambell, Lord Glenonchy, had just become a father and watched his loving wife die. The same night he receives a summons from the Pope to come back to Rome immediately to fight the dreaded Ottomans. What is he to do? He sends a message to the king asking him to find him a wife who can take care of his son. The queen knows just the lady to become his wife! Lady Margaret Robinson!!Colin is in mourning for Jonet and thought he had made it clear to the king that he just wanted a woman to take care of his son but the woman he sees is nothing like that. Every time he looks at her he sees Jonet's face. The guilt he feels makes him treat his new bride very badly. After an accident, Lady Margaret takes care of him and will not leave his side. Their relationship begins to grow. Colin receives another message from the Pope and there is nothing he can do but leave his wife and son. Margaret tells Colin she believes she is pregnant and he picks out a name for the child. Before he leaves, he gives Margaret a token of his love and has one just like it that he promises to wear until his return and they agree that they will tell no one about this token. If he dies, it will be returned to her and she promises the same.Margaret has her son, John, and works to direct the building of their castle and waits and waits and waits!!! Not one letter comes from her husband! She continues to write to him and even sends messages to the Pope but hears from no one. After 7 long years she finally agreed that her boys need a father and sets a date for her marriage.Enough said, now is the time for you to find out what happens to Colin Cambell and Lady Margaret. I love stories that are based on real life people, even if it is fiction and I think anyone who enjoys historical fiction will enjoy this book.

A Little Juvenile at Times
Spoiler: Hes a knight and he’s in mourning because his wife dies giving birth to his son. He is also summoned to battle, so he needs a mom for the kid fast. Yes this kind of stuff happens. Now, hes married again, and feels he is betraying the dead wife if he cares for the new one, so he vows he will not love her. But he does. A lot and often. Cause she’s beautiful, (SURPRISE), and Thts where it gets a little pornographic and over the top in detail. I love a good romantic love scene like the next person, but I feel some of the love scenes are a little uncomfortable and funny as described in the novel. And frankly, unnecessary. Sometimes, less is more. To me, It just cheapens the story a little. I’m not sure if she needed to turn in a book with a set number of pages, but the story did seem to get stretched out with some strange things. Like her falling off the horse, and he decides to get horny immed after he realizes she is not dead, and he gives her some of tht loving in the woods. And when they are they’re in the woods, she is having rib pain, and the reader is left guessing she is pregnant, but it goes no further. Or the attack on her arm, in the woods, just really didn’t need to be a part of this story.Overall, It’s a great storyline. Amy Jarecki is a very skilled and talented writer and I’ve read a lot of her work but this was a little more. And probably better if less.

Love Grows Strong
Colin Campbell is in morning and must have a mother to raise his son while he fights in crusades for Rome.Margaret has had her hands in her father's lands and business affairs. What will happen when these two wed? Will Margaret be able to hold onto the memories of the love that they have had the chance to grow? What will happen when Margaret finds the annulment papers undated and unsigned? Will Colin e space the murky depths when the ship goes down? Will Colin escape the dungeon? Will Margaret stone protect Colin and his men? Will the Pope finally release Colin and his men from the service of the Church? Will Colin make it home before the "SLUG OF A OGRE?I loved how Amy took these characters and wove them together.I cried, hated Ewen, it got so intense I had to put it down and come back to go a little further.I thought of my 'mama's when I read that Colin's nurse maid told Colin's nephew what was happening and the fact that he must go and bring Colin back home dead or alive! This is a love story with struggles that both must go through to rediscover their love and let Colin take part in his sons lives! This is a must read!

Knight in Highland Armor
A very good read. It's been a long time I've read an historical novel that kept me up all night. This one did. It was not only well researched, it was brilliantly written. After the death of his wife at childbirth Colin Campbell petitioned the King of Scotland for a wife who would be able to nurture his new-born son. He expected a "matronly widow". Imagine his surprise when on his wedding day he comes face to face with his new wife. She was not only young and beautiful, but was the kindly lady he had bumped into the previous day in the market. He had noticed her beautiful green eyes and vitality.Margaret Robinson had expected her husband to be would be old and probably "grey with age", after all he was the Black Knight who had helped quell the Douglas uprising. So imagine her surprise when he was the virile and handsome young man who had helped her in the marketplace the day before her wedding. But he's also still grieving the death of his wife at childbirth, and he doesn't want to be disloyal to her memory. So he's decided not to allow himself to be emotionally attached to Margaret. Also, as soon as he settles her in his home with his baby son, he would have to go join the Crusades. While he's gone, a neighbouring Laird, Ewen MacCorkodale decides on a plan of revenge to woo Margaret, marry her, and claim all Campbell lands.Their story was well-written, and keeps you guessing until the end.

Excellent read
I have now completed the series of Highland Dynasty and have to say each storyline kept me wanting more. The characters are given a realistic description and individual storylines. These are the kind of books you cannot put down.

Unputdownable
I really enjoyed this book and its plot, the were scenes of sex but the plot was well thought out and this book was unputdownable.I loved the us of archaic language and often I went to my dictionary to look up words. One small note I would have liked Amy to have put in English in some way what the Scottish medical terms of endearment ment. For all I knew it was 'my little scone'.

Adventure and a great tale
I really enjoyed this story. Loved Colin Campbell and Margaret. It gave the reader a view of 15th century living, hardship, adventure and romance, steamy at times. Would recommend it.
