There is no need to soak the brush prior to shaving as it holds a surprising amount of water after a few seconds of soaking. In my opinion this brush performs much better when ‘painting’ the lather rather than swirling. I have decided never to buy a badger brush again. This brush performs just as well and benefits from good looks etc. It will probably last just as long as a badger with the very minimum of maintenance.
