This is the only thermal mug I have ever owned that doesn't make tea taste of plastic.- It doesn't drip,- won't leak in your rucksack due to the button lock,- is a decent size,- won't slip out of your hand due to the top being curved and slightly larger than the base,- fits in all mug holders in cars,- is beautifully made- the lid can be put in the dishwasher so you can swap from coffee to tea without the tea tasting of coffee.... shall I go on? I can't think of how it could be improved. Oh ... and you can buy replacement lids from the Contigo website for £13 incl postage.

I bought this travel mug after doing a lot of online research. My main concern was that given I was going to be using it on my morning train commute, I wanted a travel mug which I could throw in my bag without worrying about leaking, and I must say that this mug absolutely delivers on that front - I have never experienced a single drip or wet top. The second benefit is that it keeps tea hot for hours. You could easily still have a piping hot cup three hours after making it. The design is also lovely - very sleek and has the added benefit of being dishwasher proof.Now for the down sides: No matter how many times I wash or use it, the tea still has a metallic taste to it. It might sound like a small point but it's actually quite a strong taste and has definitely meant that I haven't used it as much as I would have done otherwise. The second downside is that it does such a good job of keeping the liquid hot that it's almost too hot to drink using the mouthpiece - I have burnt myself on a number of occasions! You can get round this by un-screwing the cap but then it obviously gets colder quicker.If I knew what I know now when buying the cup, I would still buy it. I just wish that the tea tasted better!

The travel mug works very well to keep drinks hot (or cold) for a long time. It's made of good quality materials - the mug is all stainless steel and the lid is high-quality plastic.. It is leak-proof so that you can tip it upside-down and drink does not leak out. Because it insulates well you do have to be careful not to burn your mouth on hot drinks, but that's just common sense.Because of the mechanism in the lid it's not the easiest to clean, but you can put the lid in the top drawer of the dishwasher, which helps. It does retain some staining from coffee, but that's no different to any other mug or flask I've had.I had a minor problem with mine after using it for several months - the chrome trim around the button you press to let liquid out started to come away. I emailed the seller (Best Travel Mugs) and they sent me a new top section of the mug in the post, no quibbles. So five stars for the mug and five stars for Best Travel Mugs too,

Bought to replace an older version that I managed to leave at a meeting in a different city. Base on the new version seems heavier, but no perceptible difference in performance. Very good for keeping larger hot drinks. Fairly wide circumference means that heat is lost fairly quickly from shorter drinks (espressos and such), but still manages to keep it warm (if not hot) for an hour or so.

Absolutely ACE product. SO easy to use / clean / lock - is totally leak proof, even in the washing machine motions that my cycling / rucksack antics put it regularly through. Keeps things super hot for long enough, can highly recommend adding the tea strainer with lid add on they sell if you like loose herbal teas etc. That has actually transformed this littler already being my fave to my absolute fave purchase:)
