Cheap n Cheerful (apart from awful ring tones)!
Easy enough to set up, although you do have to look carefully at the pictorial instructions.Annoyingly, after closing the doorbell unit to set it up, the instructions for changing the ringtone are on the back of the page and meant I had to open the bell unit up again to get to the tune button……Wish I hadn’t bothered really, as the 16 tunes other than the initial ding dong are dire!Les Dawson on the glockenspiel and the old joanna at an eardrum puncturing shrill, playing all manner of awful tunes was simply shocking🙉. Take my tip to save your eardrums and stick with the simple tone it plays on set up!

Straightforward
There are several chime types that appear to be built into the chime units selected by a small button on the circuit board in the doorbell button unit. If one unit gets a different chime to the other you need to turn off one unit and cycle through the chimes until the active chimer matches the chime of the other unit.It took several seconds after switch on for the chime units to pair with the button unit, perhaps they are paired in the factory and I was being impatient, also the little buttons on then outside of the chimers is for volume, *probably* nothing to do with pairing. The instruction leaflet is okay, but not great. There is a battery for the button unit in the box, don’t let it disappear on opening the box, it is a common button cell, so don’t worry too much. The button unit has a thin rubbery seal which is a bit fiddly when pushing back together.

Ideal budget door bell
I ordered this as as my old Byron doorbell button had failed after around 3 years I was unsure if this would be compatible with the current plug in chimes I already had in the house so I ordered the kit with a plug in chime and a battery powered on, however when installing the bell I found out that it was in fact compatible with my current chimes and worked perfectly fine.Pricewise these are currently listed at ÂŁ23.75 however at the time of ordering there was a discount available bringing the price down to ÂŁ13.00 which was more than reasonable for the price.Overall this is a great little budget doorbell and does its job extremely well for the price.

Set up
Instructions are unclear on pairing of remote bell. So took a while trying to work out, basically you have to incert AA batteries then press the door bell at the same time, if like me you put the batteries in then press the doorbell, it will not pair, only the one plugged into the mains will work. The CR2032 battery wasn't included, luckily I had one.If you want to change the tune you have to remove the door bell, which is a fiddly task. Not the best design, so only 3 stars.
