can you use a dc power adapter on the usb cord to power the unit?

Power supply: 2*AA Battery, or by 5V DC adapter,USB Power supply from PC(AA batteries are not included). The best is use DC or USB Power, because when the batteries is running out, the volume for the music will be also decrease.

Keep trying but it wont record onto flash drive. What am I doing wrong? Is it broken or does the flash drive need to be formatted a certain way?

yea i had same issue got tired n put it away. then i came accross something on the net saying just what u said. whatever u formatted as,try the other. i cant remember what i did so ill have to go thru it myself . it could also be the size ,if its too big wont recognize

It saves the content of the cassette tape as an MP3 file onto a USB thumb drive that plugs into the converter unit. So if your Macbook can accept a USB drive and can play MP3 files, it will work for you.

Will this convert two full 90 minute tapes?

Depending on the storage capacity of your USB drive of course. But yes it will convert any cassette tape. Also, depending on the quality of the cassette too.
