A nice simple solution that saves much fitment time. I used this to mount a Nextbase dashcam in a 2021 Hyundai Kona, and the process took me less that 10 minutes. I previously have used the official Nextbase hardware kits in various vehicles which have been trouble free if a little fiddly. This solution is much quicker to install, quicker to remove if needed and you can be 100% sure that the wiring is not going to obstruct an airbag deployment. Comes with a useful trim tool and three different USB adapters - all from the USB A output of the adapter to USB Mini, Micro and C. None were compatible with the Nextbase input but I already had the correct lead so they became useful spares. I found watching a YouTube video more useful than any instructions provided. For my Hyundai Kona you needed the dimming interior mirror fitted in order for this adapter to work.

Brilliant piece of kit, makes fitting the dashcam very quick and easy.

Fits and works well. Dashcam powered by the ignition. -1 star for the misleading product photo that shows a USB C socket as the output. It's actually USB A but comes with 3 short adapter cables (micro, mini and C). Note that there needs to be room for the two new connectors in the car wiring spaces! The new socket is about twice the size of the other connector.

The Dongar Dashcar Adapter is brilliant it took me 4 minutes to install my Dashcam. So simple, but brilliant. Love it.

Fits a Kia EV6 GTLine. Easy to fit and hide the connections. Plenty of videos online showing how. Much easier than tapping the fuse box and routing wires. Shame about the high price but it is a real time saver.

I installed the Dongar DashCam Power Adapter on my 2021 Forester Sport with a powered rear view mirror, and I found it to be an excellent solution for a professional, clean dashcam setup. It tapped the rearview mirror power, resulting in a super clean install with all wires hidden. The cable length was generous, easily reaching my windshield with slack for routing. It reliably supplies my camera. My installation was quick (~20 minutes), but I found removing the overhead console daunting initially; watching videos helped me demystify the process and locate the 5-pin harness.

The "Dongar Easy USB Dashcam Power Adapter" is an investment to lower your work and frustration in stalling a dashcam or other usb-powered item near your rearview mirror. I installed on my '21 Crosstrek, and it was an absolute dream. Two plug-and-play connectors into the existing wiring, and one connector from the usb dongle into the new harness wiring, and all was set. Fired up the vehicle power, plugged in the dashcam and all is working well. The most difficult part of the install is now going to be to decide where to place the dashcam so as not to interfere with Eyesight-- the power adapter itself is sitting right next to the mirror mount, so as not to interfere with said system. Canadian buyers be warned-- this adapter is significantly cheaper here on Amazon than directly through the manufacturer website. Just buy it here and don't bother searching elsewhere.

It works exactly as they stated in my 2015 Subaru Legacy. Plug and play, literally. I really liked how they included a USB-to-C, USB-to-microUSB, and USB-to-miniUSB cables in short 3-4" lengths. If you want a super clean install, it's still better to wrap the cables up into the headliner. But this is a much simpler way to get power to your dashcam.
