Easy to install if you know how to extract...
I had a friend of mine install the water filtration system. When I want to replace the filters, I found these to be difficult. To begin, you need a special wrench from APEC to remove the cover. BE SUPER CAREFUL when removing the tubes... these break easily. DO NOT use a pincher. Use your hand. The filter works great and water flowers faster now.

Easy to install, great water quality
I LOVE our APEC RO system. The water tastes absolutely pure, bottled water tastes like plastic, tap water tastes like chlorine. This tastes like nothing, as it should. Every time we get we see a warning about lead pipes or other contamination in the water I'm glad we have this. Changing the pre filters every year and the ro filter every 2 years is no big deal. Even cleaning all the parts fastidiously, it only takes an hour or so to do a full filter change. It does waste 5 gallons of water for every 1 purified. I've checked. But imo for drinking water that's no big deal. If your family drinks 1 gallon of water per day that's only 1 extra toilet flush. It's certainly far for environmentally friendly than buying bottled water.Installation of the system is fairly easy for a handyman.

Does its job and lasted a long time
The water quality from this system is great and we don't need bottled water for drinking or ice. It lasted over 4 years based on readings from my TDS meter and probably would have gone longer.

Worked.... for a bit (UPDATED)
I was glad to find the right membrane, and it worked great for about a month and a half. Now it's already stopping water flow almost completely. Not sure if I'll have to just rebuy another one or if I can find one that works better, so time to do some research.Just be aware, this one might not last long if you choose to go this route.UPDATE: Company reached out to me and had me run a few tests on the system... then sent me a new membrane when we realized something must be wrong with the one I bought. Good customer service and I appreciate them making it right.

Water tastes great again!
Do change your membrane according to the schedule, specially if your area is high in chlorine. Order both filters at the same time, it's easy and fast to do. The system tastes and tests like new again! The cost is really not that much, no reason to postpone doing it. It's now on the schedule for regular replacement.
