PocketWizardFlexTT5 Transceiver for Panasonic Cameras
R**D
Amature, not ready for pro
I've been a professional photographer for at least 7 years and have been using strobes and PocketWizards for most of those years. Recently I switched from my Canon setup to my Panasonic Lumix GH5 setup for almost everything, including Step-And-Repeat events. In the past, with my Canon setup I used PocketWizards Plus III for nearly everything and they have been FLAWLESS. Never have had a misfire using the Plus III's on my Canon 5D mIV. However, when I switched to the GH5, the Plus III's wouldn't work fully with the GH5 because it would go to sleep. So I needed to purchase this FlexTT5 specifically for my GH5. I didn't really have a problem with that so long as it worked as consistently as my Plus III's. However, at 9 out of 10 events I've shot, at least once (usually multiple times in a 200+ shot night) I would encounter a mis-fire which is always related to this FlexTT5. In order to fix the mis-fire I end up having to turn off all the triggers, remove it from the hot shoe of the camera and re-attach, then power things up again, THEN it starts working again. This is EXTREMELY embarrassing at a high profile Step-and-Repeat event. It makes me look extremely unprofessional.
