Can I modify the saddle to lower the action or is it glued in place?

On the soprano I received, the saddle is molded as part of the bridge. Sanding from the top will modify the compensation, plus it is radiused. On the one I received, the action at the 12th fret on the 4th string was about 3.25mm, or over .12" according to my string action ruler. The first string was slightly higher. I'll write a review under the title "sharp"
