The Blind Date

Oops, my mistake
I didn't mean to pick this book even if it's a good one. I will never ever read a book that had a major character that is an internet "influencer". It's bad enough they are really out there and people make them into "gods" but I don't have to read about them!!!!! Bad choice.

Couldn't even finish it
I get it. She's a positive person. But by page 23 I had had enough. It was a bit of, no it was a lot of, "she doth protest too much". Beyond a nauseatingly positive attitude (which is nothing more than someone who has not lived an adult life with adult responsibilities and problems yet) she also dresses horribly with knee high yellow socks, for instance and her home is yellow this and yellow that. I have never read a book before that focused so much on people's wardrobe, their jobs, and nonsense matters that add absolutely nothing to a story such as a person using a knife and fork to eat a burrito so that they didn't accidentally drop anything on their $300 shirt! So pretentious! So boring! If I could give zero stars, I would. One star is being generous.

Feel good story
I realized several times while reading this book I was smiling like a goof. It is really a good, happy, swoony and funny story with great characters. I love the stories with the tech connection and this has that little bit of “You’ve Got Mail” to it initially, but the story is much more than that.We get a little bit of an idea of what it means to be a “social media influencer”, but Riley is a unique and effervescent presence aside from her online activities, too. Noah also makes his living with technology as an app creator. He is best friends with Riley’s brother. Riley is best friends with Noah’s sister. It’s the whole dating the sibling’s best friend, times 2.I loved everything about the story. If you are looking for a happy, romantic and steamy read, you’ll love BLIND DATE.

Both the book and I deserve 0 stars.
What was I thinking? I'm actually ashamed to be writing this review because it means confessing to having both bought and attempted to read this book. Ugh! I'm too, too old for this and should have known better. The heroine is TSTL, her dog is annoying as heck, the plot is almost non-existent, and the romance is uninteresting and unsatisfying (except, I guess, for the H and h in the bedroom). The "blind date" premise here could have been good but was not used well. The H and h moved too soon from the getting to know each other via texts to the meet-in-person stage and it went totally downhill from there. Not that before the meet stage it was very good. Their communications with each other were very superficial and became mostly sexting after only a very short time.In addition, the heroine is a useless fribble. Who need influencers in this world? What have we all become that we can't figure out things on our own but instead need mediocre, vapid others to help us make decisions in life?In full disclosure I did not read much of this book. I did skim a bit in various chapters and read the end so that I could feel somewhat justified in leaving a review.(Note to self: Don't read Laura Landish ever again. Second note to self: You are as stupid as this book. What were you thinking to choose it? Less than 0 stars to you.)

SWEET, FLIRTY AND SMOKING HOT !
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.Riley is an influencer. Her brand name Riley Sunshine has a huge following on Instagram. She spreads sunshine and happiness. She loves her followers and in turn, they love her. Along with her besties Arielle and Eli, Riley truly is a ray of sunshine. According to Arielle and Eli, the only thing missing was a man in Riley's life.Noah and his best friend River have designed successful apps in the past but, they think this one outshines all others. So just to work out the kinks and see if there are any glitches, Noah decides to set up a profile. Noah is all business and only looking to advance his career. But when he receives a notification of a possible match, he can't resist the woman who's messaging him. Are there really such things as soul mates? While Riley was filling out her profile, she was hoping to meet hers.SWEET, FLIRTY AND SMOKING HOT ! ! ! WITH MIND ALTERING, SOUL SHATTERING SEX, THIS STORY WAS ADDICTIVE, THE BUILD UP WAS INTENSE AND IT WILL MOST DEFINITELY KEEP YOUR INTEREST ! AMAZING STORYLINE WITH FANTASTIC CHARACTERS ! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT ! ! ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK !

Still waiting for something to happen
The idea of a dating app that does more than let folks choose a picture was intriguing. The characters are interesting, but 40% of the way through I was still looking for something besides showing makeup to elderly women in an old folks home and isn't it amazing that we relate so well. Finally just gave up.

The right person can have the biggest impact!
Riley Sunshine is an influencer trying to make the world a better place by spreading some positivity. Noah is an app developer who is chasing success while acting like a self proclaimed a$$hole. After being matched on a dating app that Noah created these opposites enjoy texting each other under fake names but are upset realizing they have history when they meet and discover each’s true identity. However a bond has been created and they both are interested to see where things go. A sexy story with a jerk hero who turns out to be a big cinnamon roll. What a great example of how the right person can bring out the best in us.

OMG
Lauren hit another out of the park with this one. Now I will admit, Noah is not my next favorite book boyfriend, but I did adore watching him grow and change in this book. He was so sweet, and a great complement to sunshiney Riley. The characters where great and can't wait to see if other books will come from this story. There were so many laugh out loud moments, I even had to cover my mouth as my family thought I was crazy! It wasn't all laughter though, there was more emotion in this and it was just right!!! I couldn't put it down once I started it!!

App to love!
What happens when you sign up to a dating app and end up getting matched to your brothers best friend? What happens when you decide to see what happens next? This is what happens when Riley decides to sign up to a dating app after a conversation with her best friends. Noah is a creator of the app and he wants to test it for himself to see how it works. He doesn't expect to get matched with anyone and the connection is instant! When they realise who they are, there's hesitation and years of animosity to overcome. What neither expects is the chemistry and the fun they have with each other! This was a great read with characters that were real and down to earth and a little geeky like us all! And the story gives us all hope that our perfect person is just waiting out there for us!

A beautiful sunshine read
Wow, this book was everything it promised. I laughed so much. Absolutely loved the main characters and took a lot of learning from it too. Cant wait to see if there is a follow up with the other characters. For those who haven't read any Lauren Landish delights you are missing out massively. Great book Lauren xxx

The Blind Date
Loved ❤reading this story. Very realistic with how life can be. You don't realise that soulmate is already in your life and you have looked at them differently. Love will always shine through like the 🌞sun.

Boring.
The book started off well and there were some laughable moments, but the storybecame very drawn out and boring. I was glad when I had finished it.
