TUG360° Tangle-Free Reflective Retractable Dog Lead for Extra Safety and Visibility at Night (Large)

Its not often I leave a purchase review on Amazon but I felt it important for those items which exceed my expectations or are total garbage and in this instance it is the latter. This dog lead is down right dangerous. It locks when it feels like it which means that very often there is too much slack on the lead so it gets tangled up in my dogs legs or on the other hand you think its locked when it actually isn't and It's just reached a sticky point along the cord. This has now gone in the bin and purchased a replacement from a different manufacturer from B&M and its been 100% faultless. Total rubbush product and its not very often I leave a damnng review as I am pretty mild mannered but on this occasion I wanted to get it off my chest how fustrated I have been with this useless item.

Bought this to replace a flexi l as the lock had gone in 2years I have had a flexi XL a flexi l and a flexi comfort all of which have had one problem or another so I thought I would try a different make the lead and case are good and visible but the hold part is very slippery more so in the rain only had a couple of weeks and the tape is slow to retract and she keeps getting tangled I am not totally convinced on the 50 kg limit its a shame as it looks good my Dalmatian 2year old only weighs 35kg but due to the fact she is deaf and worry of her pulling it out of my grip or it failing I have had to purchase a 75 k XL lead to be safe.

REALLY LOOKS GOOD BEING REFLECTIVE AND A GOOD WIDTH WELL WOVEN LEAD. Large reflective disk on sides of handle casing works really well in headlights etc. Although the lead has been well looked after it has only lasted a month of light use and it’s not fit for purpose as jams all of the time making retraction and extension of the lead impossible. Bitterly disappointed.ADDITION INFORMATION: REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED, OF WHICH I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. I AM HOPING THAT THE 2ND LEAD DOES NOT HAVE SAME FAULT AS THE FIRST….

Better than average retractable lead. Nice and bright. I only have small hands so this type of lead is always awkward for me to hold. it retracts very quickly. please ensure you feel the lock click as if it only catches it can pull out again as in all leads of this type. I like the tape on this one, not so painful if it catches the back of your leg (I have 2 dogs to walk). Use mainly on walks when they have to be kept on the lead allowing them some freedom. Can recommend over the cable/string type. I have unfortunately noticed the price as increased by 1/3 so won’t be buying again at the elevated price. There are still the same products with same features cheaper!

So purchased the Tug Ex lead (real strong lead) for our beautiful westieI had a slight problem with it,so contacted Tug and they responded immediately with my concern.I would 💯 recommend as they were very professional.Well done Tug

It’s great control with this lead way better than 10 or 5m rope when you don’t know how to hold that amount of leash. But with big dog who’s still learning to walk on the leash, and he’s pulling, sometimes it shot down and doesn’t wanna extend or get back , you need to try few times. My dog is 30kg 7 months old Doberman and until he knows how to walk I’ll switch for short not extendable leash. But I’ll use this for sure in the future !

My dog almost died today because of this heavy leash so pls be aware don’t but it for small dogs or puppies even though it’s says it’s for small dogs XSmall or puppies. It slipped out from my hands landed behind him with a loud noise, he got so scared and took of with the lead flying behind him and hitting him everytime he tried to stop! He ran out in traffic and almost got hit by a car!! Never been so scared in my life and same for him! So avoid this to the max as it can happen to any dog!

The button mechanism broke on this after a few months of only occasional usage. This made the walk back to the car very dangerous and uncomfortable, with the only options either the dog on a long line near traffic or for me to hold the tape part wrapped around my hand. Luckily it broke in the woodland, not near the road, or the dog could've been injured.
