Superior traps.
I have a mouse problem. These traps have been a huge help, enough that I've order several batches so I have spares at hand. I helped the traps by screwing them to pieces of plywood and covering them with a little close-fitting plywood "house" with an open front that forces the mouse to go straight in, increasing the chances of a clean kill. These traps are so much better than the old wooden one. The second wire loop makes releasing the mouse so much easier. I only have two complaints. The first is that while normal sized mice seem to trip them as expected, small mice don't trip them reliably. The second is that the plastic sleeve on the wire kill loop gets chewed on if the mouse backs into the trap and isn't killed. If the sleeve gets chewed up and comes apart, the two parts of the wire kill loop get out of alignment and no longer allow the trap to set and work properly. So when the sleeve gets chewed up, it's time to replace the trap. It would be nice to have the sleeves made of something chew-resistant.

Oh SNAP! The Snap-E trap works when other traps don't!
Are you here reading these reviews because you’ve tried other traps but still haven’t caught that pesky mouse? Looking for a trap that works and works FAST? If so, look no further! The Snap-E is the mouse trap you’ve been looking for!I live in the country, and due to a recent ice storm, I had a mouse find its way into my home, showing its furry little face as I was getting ready for work at 5AM - EEEEEK! After my heart rate returned to normal, I set my usual mousetrap, the D-Con no-show "hockey puck" type but had no success. I tried a similar Tomcat brand spin trap - also no success. I finally resigned myself to having to SEE the dead mouse and tried Tomcat jaw-style traps, but they were just licked clean of their bait without ever snapping shut. I was at my wits’ end but really didn’t want to have to resort to glue traps as I think they’re unnecessarily cruel and better to see a dead mouse than a live one! Clearly, my murine visitor was smarter than most, so I had to find an alternative to outwit him.I read many, many Amazon reviews and decided to order the Snap-E as it had excellent reviews with regards to catching sneaky, bait-stealing mice. The Snap-E is VERY easy to bait and set – just place a dab of bait in the cup (I used Nutella) and pull the top bar back until it catches on the latch. I did have to use both hands to pull the bar back to set. The trap can then be positioned without any accidental set-offs, so no risk of pinched fingers! The very next morning, BAM, dead mouse, where other traps had failed for 3 weeks! It was a very “clean” kill with no blood, guts, or mess, and appeared to have been an instant and humane dispatch. I chose to dispose of the whole trap but it could easily be emptied by lifting the bar without ever coming in contact with the dead mouse, if you choose to do so. The only cons to the Snap-E trap are that you will have to see the dead mouse (but at least it's dead!) and it does need to be placed out of the way of curious children and pets to avoid pinched fingers and paws.I also like that the Snap-E trap is made in the USA! Buy the Snap-E with confidence, IT WORKS!!!EDIT 8/8/16 - I was watching the Olympic opening ceremonies Friday night when I heard that tell-tale scratching noise in my kitchen - EEK! Unlike the above part of my review, I didn't bother to waste time with other traps, I deployed the Snap-E traps right away. Problem solved in 2 days! It took me a day to figure out the best spot for the trap but once I did I could know with confidence that I'd get that mouse and sure enough, the very next morning, BAM! Snap-E for the gold! I'll always keep plenty of these on hand - they are VERY effective and VERY easy to bait and set!EDIT 9/5/16 - Success with Snap-E again, but a suggestion - make sure to put the bait all the way at the BOTTOM of the bait cup! Don't just smear it on the rim, get it all the way to the bottom! I made the mistake of not putting the bait far enough down and the sneaky little mouse managed to set the trap off and escape! I fixed the trap so the bait was at the bottom (use a cotton swab) and next time he wasn't so lucky!

Good addition to the arsenal in the war versus mice
Background: I live in a 1 bedroom in NYC. Mice are a reality. It is not so bad that I see mice all the time or even often, but regularly enough that I'm not surprised. Especially in the winter time. I've entered the kitchen after midnight, and saw a mouse scurrying into a loose gap between the floorboard and wall. The real evidence is from droppings. The first thing I tried was the rat zapper. It has had limited success. In the few years I've owned it I've caught maybe 10 mice at most. Mice now mostly avoid it, and it is not unusual for it to go months without being tripped. The last several times it has registered false positives where it is flashing, and nothing is inside. I then tried Just One BIte II poison. I like it. Mice definitely eat it, and I've found random bodies around my apartment. The fact that these bodies show up randomly is annoying, but is also encouraging since I have to believe only a fraction of mice die in my apartment.Still there are mice that avoid eating the poison. So I bought these snap traps. They are indeed easy to bait and the design is far better than most snap traps. The ability to easily empty the trap and reset without having to touch the mouse was important to me. This trap succeeds in that. It takes seconds to empty and reset the trap. Secondly, this trap is far more sensitive than other snap traps. There are videos on youtube comparing snap traps including the traditional victor one and this one. A mouse can stand on the trigger of a traditional mouse trap and not set it off. This trap is far more sensitive than others and that is a good thing. My investigation with mouse traps shows that often those triggers are so hard to trip on the traditional snap trap that mice finish the food without a problem. It's when they go back and start licking up the last 1% that they finally trip the traditional trap. Who wants to refill the food every time they kill a mouse? To be fair traditional mouse traps seem to have a more powerful snap than the Kness trap. But you don't need a bazooka to kill someone, a handgun will work fine. The snapping mechanism on the Kness is plenty strong enough to catch a mouse. It also travels half as far since it starts in the middle, meaning the speed is just as fast or faster than a traditional. Results: Bought 4, baited with peanut butter. Setup Friday evening. Came back Monday morning. Dead mouse in the mouse trap, caught by the mouth. Doesn't look like it even reached the peanut butter. The other 3 traps were not set off. I spent 30 seconds, dumping the mouse (with gloves of course) and resetting it. No need to rebait. Very satisfied customer.I would say for pure killing power, go with poison. Then keep a few snap traps around as well to get the mice that don't go for the poison.Update 1/31/17: Wow these things are still going strong. I just caught a mouse with the same peanut butter I baited when I first setup the trap. Mice always just die before they can get to the peanut butter. I've never gotten a false positive snap, where a mouse trigerred the trap and ran away. These traps are amazing.

The advertised dimensions are incorrect.
I purchased this product based on the advertised dimensions which were stated as Product Dimensions : 7.62 x 20.32 x 10.16 cm.The dimensions are actually 7.62 x 10.32 x 5.16 cm.I guess they are for mice. I will return the product and order the Kness traps the next larger size. The overall rating I gave are for the larger Kness rat traps that I have used before. They were identical other than the size.

Excellent Mouse Trap!
I don't usually comment too much when I purchase stuff on Amazon, however this mouse trap is excellent! The killbar doesnt let the mice escape. Already caught 6 mices already in 4 days. Put a bit of peanut butter inside the little hole. Best thing is that I don't even need to touch the mouse. Just lift the other bar and release the dead mouse into the garbage bag. Disinfect it, and reset the killbar. I took one star off cause, at times it is a little difficult to reset it since the trigger hook is very sensitive. Otherwise, a great mouse trap.
