Dead Wolf Walking: Bad Moon Academy, Book 1

This isn’t bad but it’s confusing. I get there’s a ton of mystery and what not but muddling through this was really challenging. There’s too much omitted where it doesn’t feel like it makes sense..... also, upon her getting bitten how is she not ticked at the one who changed her?? She’s just kinda like “oh” not any real feelings of distrust or anger. The relationships she’s starting to build feel so surface level.This book was really frustrating there’s too much missing where the story doesn’t feel like it’s making sense or that it’s completed, and maybe I’ll read the next one, but I won’t go out of my way for it

SO GOOD! This book was fantastic! The mystery and intrigue completely had me hook, line and sinker. Raven was one kick butt heroine! I loved her strength, take no crap attitude, determination, and curiosity. Even more so, I LOVED her bond with Joan (her Wolf)!!! Joan was one sassy Wolf and I loved it! Hearing her inner monologue and their back and forth conversations was hilarious! There were moments that literally had me laughing my butt off!Everett, Carter and Draco were very interesting characters. Each personality was so uniquely them. And I loved how they each had such a different connection/relationship with Raven. I genuinely cannot wait to see those relationship blossom even more as the story continues.That end though...WHAT THE HECK! That ending totally through me for a loop and I was left wondering what the flip I just read! I’m left with so many questions that I need answers to and can’t wait to have.This story was fantastic and Rory Miles did a wonderful job of creating such a thrilling, mysterious and sexy read that had me completely consumed from beginning to end.

Dead Wolf Walking is one of those books that had me crafting all sorts of theories in my head as I read and telling multiple friends vague parts of those theories because I needed to tell someone but not spoil it for them. I couldn't put this book down, I just had to keep reading to see what was happening at the academy and how Raven was going to deal with everything. This is a multi-POV book, which both helps and makes the twists twistier. I also think the pacing was well done to keep the tension going. This is listed as a dark book and there are definitely some dark themes here, but I want to add that I'm not a dark reader personally and I had no issues with this read.Raven is the type of FMC that I truly enjoy reading about, she's experienced trauma and has come out strong and determined, even when she's unsure and vulnerable. She's a fighter through and through. Now sometimes I did want her to fight the guys at the academy a little less, because I'm on board with her wolf, what we've seen of the ones I like, she can go ahead and claim them right now and I'd be happy. Raven's learning a new world, along with whatever else is happening though, so it's understandable that she'd be cautious. Plus, her background also supports her character's choices. Raven is such a richly drawn character that Ms. Miles did an amazing job building.Raven's wolf by the way, is amazing. I really enjoyed how the balance works between wolf and human in this world. I'm also a big fan of the love interests so far. Even though this is a slow burn, we do get hints of steaminess in this first book, which were well-written, and loads of tension. Each guy has a distinct personality and you get a good feeling of how each would work with Raven and their group as a whole. You really get the sense as a reader that all of the guys want to protect Raven, even if they may not be able to.As for the twists and turns, so many theories like I said. Just so many. There's a lot going on at Bad Moon Academy and we're just scratching the surface of what's got to be hidden under there. We do get some pieces to the puzzle and hints. The book ends on a big cliffhanger that also adds another element to the puzzle I think. Book 2 is up for pre-order as I'm typing this and Ms. Miles assured us in a note after that cliffhanger that book 2 will share more info. I'll be over here, possibly with a wall covered in photos and string, waiting.

Rory Mills has done it again!!! This start of a new series definitely began with a resounding bang!! My goodness!!! It was packed full of mystery, intrigue, magic, steamy moments, plus one determined and brave female at the center of everything. Be warned...it ends with an abrupt cliffhanger that'll leave you desperate for more.Although it deals with shifters, the reader gets the distinct impression this is going to have a huge twist. A truly original world filled with fascinating characters take the reader on a fascinating journey! I can't wait for book two!!! This author never disappoints, and always brings her 'A' game!!!

The twists, the mystery, the freaking ominous feeling of deceit and lies coming from everyone. DeAtH! Yes I said it DEATH!OMG YALL THIS BOOK!Like my insides are so twisted and I’m hanging off this book page by freaking page!Heart pounding and my rapid breaths did not help the remain calm factor I was trying to hold!And then....BOOM!She f🤬Ed me. She f🤬Ed me up real good!The questions I have are only building and I cannot express how many times I shivered over the wicked 💩 that I just got done reading.This book deserves a million freaking stars cause THATS HOW YOU WRITE A BOOK! I’m hooked like an addict and I 👏 NEED 👏 MORE 👏!

I have to say that was one hell of a cliff hanger! What a fascinating story this was and holy crap I really need to know what happens next. This book is filled with interesting characters and an intriguing storyline that will definitely keep you interested and on your toes trying to figure out what will happen next. I can honestly say that I didn't see that ending! I would absolutely recommend this book. Happy reading everyone.

First off, this book is really well, really really well. Second, I had kind of gone off academy books because a lot of them are similar, bad boys, bitchy girls and either a total bada$$ MC or a wilting wallflower. This is none of those. Yes, it is an academy, but there's none of the above. The MC is basically living for livings sake, she's an empty shell, we don't learn a massive amount about her life before aunt Lou but bad, bad things happened and its really had an effect on her. Everyone is hiding secrets, some come to light, some don't, some can't. There are shifters, ghosts, possibly demons and witches. Sooooo many questions! But that's what makes a great book! Bring on book 2!

I loved this story. Academy's aren't always my favourite but you have to read this book, it is nothing like any other academy setting I have read before.Raven has been bitten by a wolf and has to attend Bad Moon Academy, but something is definitely going on that nobody will explain.Raven's character is strong and sassy and I loved the conversations she has with her wolf, who had the best lines in the book.There's not a lot I can say without risking a spoiler, so all I will say is read this book!That cliffhanger though, it will make you desperately need the next book.

Wow!! What an amazing start to this new series 😍It’s a different take on the academy with a darker aspect to it, along with a mystery that brings alllll the intrigue into it!Sooo good to see a different spin on a supernatural with a wolf and necromancer mix in Raven! As an FMC she is one badass sassy FMC and I’ve already claimed Joan as my bestie - love you dialogue between them 😂And the men 🥵🥵 with 5 mates there’s a great mix including some ‘taboo’ dynamics 🤤That twist though…Rorys amazing but bish I can’t get over that 🙈 can’t wait for book 2 to see where it goes!Read this you won’t regret it 😊

Hooooly heck! This was a ride! I so loved this and damn that ending I really can’t wait to jump onto the next one! This book is full of twist turns mystery and secrets. A sassy FMC with her even sassier wolf Joan who I loved, she absolutely cracked me up! The guys are all different and one of which a complete an utter mystery which dang makes this book so intriguing! The plot just keeps on giving and I think this is just the beginning of something altogether spectacular.

Wow I wasn't sure what to expect from this book as Rory is a new author for me but what I got was so much more, I so did not see that twist coming!! Amazing job not often I'm surprised and this is one heck of a page turner I can not wait to see what happens next.
