ASICS Men's GT-2000 9 Running Shoes

The GT-2000 9 is a lightweight, cushioned stability running shoe for people with gaits ranging from neutral to overpronation. The uppers have been redesigned with a one-piece mesh made from recycled materials. ASICS’ FLYTEFOAM and GEL technologies are used to provide lightweight cushioning and attenuate shock.I’m a 64-year-old male distance runner. I’ve been running competitively since 2014. I’ve completed numerous 5Ks and half marathons and I’ve completed 6 marathons, including the NYC Marathon. I’ve qualified for the Boston Marathon several times, although I haven’t ever run it. My training includes 30 to 40 miles of running each week. I replace my running shoes 3 or 4 times each year. I’ve tried several brands of running shoes but most of my shoes have been ASICS shoes. I like the ASICS shoes because they work well for me and I think they’re a good value.I’ve tried several models of ASICS shoes. I need a shoe that corrects for overpronation. I used to wear the GT-1000s but I started wearing the GT-2000s a couple of years ago because I feel like they provide better cushioning. That’s important to me since I’m older and I run a lot of miles.I know ASICS occasionally makes changes to the GT-2000 shoes but they seem to be pretty consistent from pair to pair. The only thing I don’t like in my most recent pair is the laces. They feel like they’re made from some type of synthetic material. I always double knot my laces and I haven’t had any problems with them coming untied or being difficult to untie. I just don’t like the way they feel.In a couple of months I will be ordering my next pair of running shoes and I expect they will also be ASICS GT-2000s.

I'm older, have tender feet and wear size 14. I'm also picky about comfort and how well my shoes fit. These shoes are very nice in many ways. Although they are sold as running shoes I no longer run and use them only as everyday casuals. They fit great; they are narrow in the heel, which I need, yet have a spacy toe box. The mesh allows my foot to "breath". They are super light weight yet sturdy enough to give good support. The sole is firm, comfortable and provides good foot cushion/protection. I can find nothing wrong with them, for my use, after wearing them daily for a couple of months. They were shipped and received in a timely fashion by Amazon.

The GT-2000 has never disappointed me. I own about two dozen pairs of gym/running shoes, some are better than others. But the GT-2000 has always been my go to shoe for many years and I wear that model on a daily basis. Very happy with my purchase, and I hope ASICS continues this line for many years to come. Comfort and stability are second to none!

I wear the shoe for walking both outdoors and on the treadmill. It feels like a good quality shoe but could be a bit wider. Not sure that it's the wide version that I ordered but feels somewhat better as I walk more in it.

One of the most overlooked brands. ASICS is a great shoe but I don’t see many people wearing them. They fit great and they weight very little. The shoe reminds me of Rockports as far as weight goes.With ASICS, if you wear a 10.5 you get a 10.5 that fits comfortably. Some brands put you in a situation where you have to go a size down or a size up to get the best fit but ASICS always fit perfectly.I bought these to replace a previous model ASICS shoe that I had since 2013 and they are still in perfect condition except for the color is out of style. So if you care for them they will last you a long time.

Walking/hiking

These shoes fit like a glove. When I first tried them on I had to double check the tag that they were really 13's. I was initially concerned I might have to send them back but after a week of working on concrete floors all day I have no complaints and my feet feel better at the end of the day than they did with my year old gt4000. After a lifetime of mostly Nikes and work boots I'm really happy I switched over to Asics running shoes after some google research and reading some articles, these are designed more for flat feet and mine aren't exactly flat but it makes a world of difference.

Light and comfortable shoe. It was on sale, so great price. Fits true to size for me.

I used to own. Not the same quality as before. After one missed step while putting on these shoes the heel is now completely crushed. Very disappointing. Will not purchase again.
