Review: a useful little gadget to improve grip strength - My grip has decreased in strength as a natural consequence of getting older, causing me some difficulties in everyday tasks and in playing bowls (my hobby). I saw this advertised, bought it and it arrived within 2 days. I found it very easy to use and it improved my grip almost instantly, as it exercises the muscles in the hand, fingers and thumb. I found it very easy to sit and watch tv whilst doing repetitions on each hand. It's very easy to alter the tension to increase the effort required to use it as this is a simple screw wheel to increase or decrease it. It is comfortable to use as the handle has a soft rubberised finish instead of being plain metal or plastic. It seems very sturdy so presumably will last for years. It has improved my grip strength almost overnight, enabling me to play my sport without dropping the bowls accidentally. Well worth the cost of only £5.99.

**Q: I have had an injury that’s left me weak, i’m finding this too strong for me. Can I buy one under 5 kg?**
A: Hi, thank you for the enquiry. Unfortunately the lowest power is 5kg on this unit. This 5kg does not come as lifting 5 kgs of weight however hence it feels quite easy. However the best route in this situation is to seek aid from a medical source and act upon their advise in terms of strength or weight levels. Thank you

**Q: How good's this grip in building wrist muscle & strength? How hard to squeeze it in highest setting, and how many reps? Is it reliable, doesn't break?**
A: I bought mine to improve my grip strength, as this had decreased during lockdown. I found it easy to use and carried out multiple repetitions whilst sitting watching tv. This improved my grip strength very rapidly after only a few days of use. Admittedly I only had it on the low settings as I'm 68 and hadn't been to the gym since the beginning of lockdown, so my thumbs were very weak. I also haven't used it much recently as it had done the job I bought it for. But I think it is sturdily made and should last a long time. Changing the hand position changes the muscles used. And varying the tension is easy to achieve. So I would give it a go if you want a basic hand grip strengthener that won't blow your budget!

**Q: I have a very similar product (for me it changes only the color), but my one says it´s 20kg maximum strength. Is this one from you really 60kg?**
A: It says '5-60 kg' on the side of it. I've no idea how accurate this is as I haven't tried to measure the force needed to fully close the grip. I don't really need to know this as I only use it to strengthen my relatively weak grip. I'd imagine it is roughly accurate but it isn't a scientific instrument, simply an exercise tool, so no need to be that precise.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked well for my rehab

Big accident, multiple fractures, hand particularly badly broke. Couldn't use item until a year later, just no strength in hand until recovery well under way. Rubber balls & putty to get me to the point I could use it. But once I could though painful, improvements came. Got from 20% up to 50%+ within a few months. Sadly too much damage to hand to fully recover, but thanks to this I got as much strength back as possible. Which made the hand much more usable . Happy buyer.
