A Passion for Colour: Exploring Colour Through Paper, Print, Fabric, Thread and Stitch Hardcover – November 1, 2013

I love Ruth Isett. I was lucky enough to take a class from her several years ago and she has a marvelous take on color and how to get the colors that you want. I especially liked the way that she used simple stitches to accent color. Almost all of the things that she has highlighted are doable by most people. True eye candy!

This is a gorgeous inspiring book. The art is beautiful and it makes me want to stop everything and explore her ideas. I am experienced with color but there is always more to learn. The textural layers of the art in different media add an exciting dimension to the color and are especially inspiring for collage art.

Anything Ruth Isset writes is worth reading. As first an architect and now a studio artist, I have learned more about color and it's potential to easily outnumber even one of the advanced color courses I took in college. Her body of work is an inspiration to behold.

Used this book to get ideas to paint a picture of a rooster for our county fair and I got 1st place...I had submitted art work 6 times over the years and my work was exhibited, but I had never placed! Fresh ideas definitely helped!

This is such a beautiful book. I just had to have it! It did not meet my hopes of finding a little more about basic Color Theory based on theColor Wheel....... but the gorgeous pages are awesome.

This book has been a real inspiration for using dye AFTER I have finished a stitch project. All of the book is loaded with amazing ideas for ways to expand ones views on color and experiments using color. You won't be sorry to bought this book.

A lovely book filled with ideas and color concepts the filled my imagination. Excellent reference for my painting, drawing, fiber art. Definitely the book I was searching for to fill my creative library. Will be a studio favorite

I was not in the least inspired by anything in this book. Too hodge podge with very little instruction. I had hoped for at least one "how to" but sadly it is all pictures of her work with some text thrown in for good measure. This was a $25 book too, more than I usually pay for books.

Easy to follow principles, quality presentation and examples. Well worth it.

This is a beautiful book - perhaps one of the most inspiring and interesting I've ever read on this subject (and I've read lots). Ruth Issett explains her subject with passion (she truly lives up to her title) and excitement which transmits itself to the reader. There are lots of really useful tips whether you are experienced in using colour and in dyeing and printing textiles or a comparative beginner. There are also some mouth-watering examples of her work and an excellent section towards the end of the book which take you through her process.If you are interested in textile art and colour, this is a must-have addition to your library.

This book is wonderful. It has a lot of ideas that I would like to implement in my Art projects.Excellent book for
