Gripped by the Greatness of God

This book will help you understand just who GOD is. Your heart will almost explode with each chapter. This is the book that I will read at least once a year. My main take away from this book is: "I want what God wants."

What does the holiness of God and every day life have in common? Seeing His greatness is all you need to let go of every situation you encounter and give it to Him. I use this book over and over to encourage those who find it hard to let go of things they can not control and reduce anxiety. Get 2 or 3 copies to share!

I'm gripped by the greatness of God and I'm gripped by the greatness of this book. I've been saved for 30 years and I felt like all new teaching was nonexistent. But this book is like finding an old family album in a dusty old attic. Seeing family members that I knew had existed once but I never knew. James MacDonald writes in such a refreshing way as to show me things in a new and raw light. I too will never say "awesome" except when referring to my God.

Although I've enjoyed listening to James MacDonald by radio for years, this is the first of his books in my collection. I love that he writes the same way he speaks. I can almost hear his voice as I read. He preaches and teaches with power. His style is never condescending, but more like a passionate friend who wants nothing more than to encourage you to be all that you were created to be. This book is definitely a keeper and as soon as I finished it, I bought one for my friend. It was enlightening, convicting, comforting, and includes things to do to help apply the teaching to one's life...to make it personal. Don't miss this one.

The author expounds on a number of sections in the book of Isaiah where the prophet Isaiah was gripped by God and wrote of the different aspects of God's greatness. The author also relates incidents in his own life where these aspects of the greatness of God gripped him. Each chapter ends with a series of questions to motivate thought by the reader as to his life can become more God centered and thereby increasing the grip God has on his life.

This is one of his best books for bible study alone or in a group! I always feel the Holy Spirit speaking to me through him!

A fresh take on truly understanding the majesty of God and His character. We have been using this book as the basis for discussion at a men's group, and to great effect indeed.

This book by James McDonald has been an inspiration in so many ways. We used the book in a study group of 6 people. We read a chapter and then watched James on a DVD (that you purchase separately) speak with wit and depth about that chapter. We found that having the book and not just using the leader guide that comes with the DVD study added so much to our conversation. He takes Isaiah's prophesies and teaches who God is in a way I could understand and in a way that will stick with me. Your prayer life, social life and worship life will not be the same!colspace

I've read this item in the past. It was really helpful and insiteful. It really blessed my life. I understood some of the ways God works in our lives and James MacDonald is really anointed to bring you in line with scripture. A must read.
