This is a great math tool to teach the base 10 concept! It is the perfect size for my 6 year old son. It is sturdy and the beads are easy to move. This is definitely worth $12!

I really like it a lot despite a little issue. There was a long splinter on one of the legs. It was too much hassle to return. So I pull out the splintering piece and smooth the edge with my fingernail. Aside from that issue, it looks very study and is very good quality. The finishes are nice. The wood seems be made of soft wood that you get with most "wood" toys, but it is finished with clear lacquer. My daughter didn't have issue with moving the beads. Now I just need to figure out how to use it to teach math.

I have a couple abacuses, but I purchased this one specifically because the beads are split into 5 and 5 with red and white beads. One of my children was really struggling to add, even with the other abacuses, but this has really helped her. It makes is much easier to see, say "7" because it's 5 red beads and 2 white beads. It does tip over pretty easy, which is a little annoying, but I could not find another abacus that was split into two different colors like this so I will keep it.

This is a sturdy frame that will endure everyday use in my classroom. Will definitely use to help students conceptualize addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Very nice for the price. Would definitely recommend to my teacher friends.

Solid build. Needs decals to identify 1’s ,10’s, 100’s, etc.,rows.Found very good instructional links on YouTube.

I previously purchased a learning resources rekenrek, but the beads were too small for my sons fingers and he would often getting frustrated shifting them from side to side. These larger sized beads are more appropriate and easier to manipulate for smaller hands! Great quality and sturdy, well worth the cost!

My daughter homeschools and we use Math Mammoth which required an abacus. She loves this thing! My three year old sometimes beats on it too so I can attest to the durability!

Our child loves this product and plays quite a bit with it. Wonderful for kindergarten and 1st grade as they begin to learn math concepts.
