If your dishwasher will accept emotionally challenged items they will do just fine. **Q: How much microgreen seeds do you use per tray? I keep overcrowding the trays** A: It depends on the size of the seeds. Just fill the tray. **Q: Where is it made? What are the white sheets made of and are there chemicals in the sheets?** A: I believe these are made in China, and the "white sheets" are simply mesh-bottomed trays that are fitted to the green ones (thus, they can be washed and used again and again). The soil-medium is spread into the white trays, and then the seeds are planted in the growth medium to germinate. When these trays are moistened to encourage germination, any excess liquid will fall into the trays (the green part) safely underneath. Once the young and tender sprouts appear and the roots are reaching far enough through the growth medium, watering can be achieved by raising the tray a bit and putting the water/plant food below for ready access to the roots. These trays are really nice and a great way to start smaller sheets of microgreens. As to any chemicals, there aren't any specific chemicals applied to the trays at all, over and above the fact that they are made of washable plastic. Wash well, rinse and spray with a food-grade peroxide solution so bacterial/fungal growth is minimized, then allow to dry fully between uses. I learned about how to grow sprouts in the trays. I explain little bit. When you put seeds on the paper and put water in a green tray than you need to cover seeds with green tray to press it down for 2 days. In 2 days when seeds start sprouting turn green tray over and cover seeds for another 2 days. After that remove green tray from the top and leave seeds open and 1-2 times a day add water as it is evaporating. In 7-9 days you will get what is on the picture. I couldn’t download picture. I was excited because this one, unlike my other, sets down in itself when not in use. That is the only good thing about it. The holes are too small in the screen which does not allow the water to drain when watering your sprouts. THIS IS NOT GREAT STAINLESS. I used it ONCE and the entire screen has rust spots all over it. I got this one instead of the other one I already had because it was a few dollars cheaper. Other one I have been using for a year and half....NO RUST what so ever. This is NOT WORTH IT.
