Before you install this gadget, familiarise yourself with the red location marker and retaining spring on the side of the adapter. To install the adapter, do what you would do when mounting a lens: line up the red dot with the red dot on the camera body, insert and rotate clockwise until you hear a click. To remove the adapter, insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot where the retaining spring is located, depress the retaining spring, and gently rotate the adapter anti-clockwise with the screwdriver. There should be no need to apply any force. Note that you do not need to depress the lens release button on the camera body. The adapter is held in place solely by the retaining spring.Note also that you cannot remove the adapter with a lens attached, since the lens release button on the camera body is inoperative. You must first unscrew the lens from the adapter and then remove the adapter by depressing the retaining spring.

Good product and the price comparable to 3rd party makes on Amazon. Appears a genuine Pentax adapter although stamped Pentax Philippians and is packaged in a reasonable sturdy pouch with instructions on assembly / disassembly.
