Works great with Vera Edge Zwave system
This is the second of these I have ordered and they work great with my old Vera Edge Zwave system. I have one monitoring an old hot water heater (that I'm sure will go out soon) for leaks and garage temperature while the other monitors a dryer vent in the attic for leaks and the attic temperature. I can't comment on the battery life as yet, but they monitoring works great. There is a slight trick to the manual adding to Vera, but the documentation is thorough and explains each step of the manual add process.

Hubitat didn't add it the way instructions did. But added fine by just clicking madly
Once I got it paired with my Hubitat, it works great. But was an annoying sequence. First, factory zero it, by holding down the pairing button for about 30 seconds, until light changed. Then unpair it by pushing the pairing button madly until the light changes again, and it unpairs as an unidentified Z wave device. Then pair it the same way, and pairs as a generic Z wave sensor. THEN, go into Hubitat Devices, and change device from generic sensor to what it actually is. Then tap save and then tap Update. After all of that, it finally works fine, probably 50' from Hubitat at least, and down a floor, so has a floor and 2 walls between them.

Replaced defective unit, only to discover not compatible with alarm.com
I ordered two of these after receiving assurances from my alarm.com monitoring provider that they are compatible with my alarm.com system. When I received the two devices, the tamper microswitch was broken and unusable, making it impossible to trigger the device for setup.I returned the item for a replacement through Amazon, only to discover after a few hours of attempting to configure and 8+ phone calls that these units are not compatible with alarm.com systems, with ANY panel hardware.

Sometimes falls offline
I purchased this product to use along with a Aeotec SmartThings Hub. I installed a very nice dehumidifier in my crawl space and combined that with a condensation pump to remove water to the outside of the house. I place the condensation pump in a plastic cat litter box. In the event of pump failure, the water will spill over into the plastic box and the water sensor will alert me of a problem. I can then use my SmartThings app to turn off the smart plug that the dehumidifier is plugged into. Stopping the dehumidifier temporarily will allow me to correct the pump problem and prevent water from pumping into the crawl space area. Occasionally, I will open my SmartThings app and the water sensor will be offline. A little while later it will be back online. I don't know if the floor is thick enough to interrupt the wireless connection or if the device is just buggy. I'm happy with it for the most part.

Weird physical design but works fine.
Seems to alert fine for water, humidity, and temperature. Works well from basement to my Aeotec smartthings hub upstairs. But does not stand up on the floor by itself. I had to attach bunch of weights to make that happen. Very bad physical design.

Even has spidey sense
Great sensor and super accurate - but I’ll admit at first I thought I had a dud. Paired this very easily to my Aeotec SmartThings Hub, and immediately learned that it had a humidity sensor in addition to the temperature sensor, which is pretty awesome. Even though I’m using this to monitor my sump pump (for early flood detection in the event of failure) I can imagine that having the temp and humidity sensor would be hugely beneficial for avoiding burst pipes or in spaces that have water in the first place and you would want to mitigate excessive humidity. May buy a few more for those cabinet spaces I always worry about in the winter. Anyway, a few days after dangling the probe into my sump pump I started receiving wet alerts, frequently. They would almost always reset to “normal” until they didn’t. I checked to ensure that water wasn’t rising to reach the probe, and when I determined it wasn’t close I thought I had a defective unit. That is until I inspected a little more closely and realized a spider had spun one tiny strand of web between the two probes, and when enough moisture condensed on this web it closed the circuit!! Crazy sensitive. Cleared the web off and I’ve been alert free since, and also happy with the peace of mind that this thing works WELL!

Poor Sensor Probe Design
The water sensor/probe on the Aeotec isn't logically designed. Instead of being able to lay it flat and have it quickly sense water that way, one has to mount it on something so that the metal contacts on the end/edge of the sensor can contact the water. This means it can't lay flat as to do so would mean the water would have to come up the sensor at least 1/2 way, and so it can't be easily placed for various common uses. The connectivity and features have been working fine...
