For a less expensive set, these jaws are very good quality. Tighten evenly and stay tight. Very smooth operation. Very good set with all the accessories needed. Reasonable prices. Good quality. High recommended.

I can't tell the difference between nagu and my novas. I've got three now, they all work great. From what I've read, the machine shops overseas that make name brand parts/tools, sell the same parts/tools without that brand at lower prices. Probably the case here. Either way, the chucks and jaws are good.

First I am new to wood turning and just got my first Midi 14 In Nova lathe. This chuck is suited for a Midi lathe and is almost identical to my Nova G3 chuck. The key even has the name Nova stamped in it. I have only used it once but worked as expected. As far as what it is actually made of, I have no clue. I only gave it a 4 star because it had no instructions with it, so if you are not familiar with chucks and how they work just google Nova G3 as this chuck works the same. Also the jaws are interchangeable with the Nova chuck. The price of the chuck and accessories are very reasonable, so good I am going to purchase another one.

Bought this for my midi lathe. Wasn’t sure what to expect but this is a very well built chuck. I received it today, assembled it and immediately used it to turn a bowl. Zero problems. Some say it doesn’t grip the piece?!? No problems when you make the tenon the correct size. I’m very pleased with this purchase so far.

Should have spent more and got one that actually keeps pieces secure. Can't seem to get it tight enough no matter what. Spend more and get a better one.

Normally ,I don't go with generic chucks, but this works very well, and is a great choice for a backup chuck for the Nova family of jaws.

Does not fit a 1 inch by 8 TPI headstock The threads are much larger. Spent half the morning cleaning all the oil off of the parts and mounting my cole jaws and a bowl before I noticed the threads were way too big to be 1"by 8 TPI. Update Must have been a shipping mix-up. They sent the correct one a day or two later and it's been working great.

Just like other customers have observed, this chuck is well machined and is almost identical to the quality you would see from Nova or other high-end brands. While I do not own a Nova chuck, this chuck from Nagu looks identical to Nova's G3 Chuck. The word "Nova" is even stamped in the tightening tool. It is likely this chuck comes from the same factory which makes Nova's chucks.
