I had a 90 gallon reef tank with a 10 gallon refugium. I used only one at a time and it worked great. You should be fine with just one.

Q: I have a 75 gallon tank with an fx6 how many bags should I put in the fx6 at a time, one bag a month?

Purchase the 11 ounce containers instead of this 6 pac of 5.5 ounce bags. I have 3 fx6’s and put one 11 ounce bag in and 250mil of perigean in the top tray. How often you need to change it depends on you bio load. But good rule of thumb is every month. Hope this helps

Q: Can I use with a ammonia remover insert in my filter?

It should be ok but water changes is a better solution for lowering any ammonia.
