Q: What do the seeds need to grow once they are inside the pellet? Water? Sunshine? Nutrients? Nothing?

You will water the pellets so that they expand to full size before you plant your seeds in them. So at first they will need nothing extra. Once they sprout and have leaves, put the mini-greenhouse in a sunny window. Water again when the pods start to dry out, but carefully remove excess. They need nothing more than this really until it is time to trans-plant the pods. The pods have what they need to start out, allowing the roots to grow out through the mesh and helping to retain a moist (not too wet/not too dry) environment. The directions on the box will tell more as well.

Q: What are the diamentions of the tray? Also are the pellets soils okay for cactus seeds or cuttings?

The tray is about 10-12" long, maybe 2-3" wide. You could do cactus seeds, but watch it carefully, to make sure they don't stay too wet. I don't see any problem with trying to grow cacti in them. Good luck.
