Black sheep, come on, black sheep, come on...
Retro graphics, River City Ransom vibes, Anamanaguchi soundtrack. Excellent shape, and the Limited Run release is just as awesome, glad I picked this up.

Cool gameplay, cruddy save feature
Overall, I like the game. The 8-bit graphics are a definite throwback to games of yore and for fans of the movie it makes even more sense. The fun factor is definitely there and for hardcore gamers it will provide a lot of fun. However, that’s for true and intense gamers and fans of the series. Otherwise the controls get very monotonous very quickly and the difficulty gets tedious, even on the “easy” setting. The enemies quickly gang up on you and you find yourself button mashing just to get them off. You gain extra moves as you level up but there is no safe space in which to practice said moves. A banner comes up on the bottom of the screen informing you of a new move and then quickly disappears. You have no choice but to learn on the fly. In spite of this frustration, seeing characters from the books and movie or even characters inspired by certain scenes was a lot of fun. The only thing that ultimately made me put it down is that each level is VERY LONG, and there is no auto save feature. That means that if you get stuck on a level and consistently get the snot beat out of you and you lose all your lives, you have no choice but to start all over. This was the ultimate undoing for me. The levels are fun, bright, and creative…but constantly moving around for coins to buy power ups is annoying after getting banked by so many opps. Then having to start a level over that took you nearly twenty minutes to complete is the worst. Overall I don’t regret the purchase, but if I knew then what I know now, I’d have stayed away and just enjoyed the graphic novels and movie.

Un tuffo nel passato
Sembra di tornare indietro nel passato, quando si passava i pomeriggi in sala giochi, picchia duro a scorrimento laterale con una grafica retro, consigliato

A great pixel art game with an excellent soundtrack.
This game originally came out in 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It received two pieces of DLC before being delisted in 2014 due to licensing issues. With this re-release, you get the DLC included with the base game as well as being able to play the game on modern platforms. The game is a simple beat ‘em up with charming pixel art and fluid animations for each of the main characters and the boss fights. For those familiar with the universe, you have your choice of 6 playable characters; protagonist Scott Pilgrim, love unstetestes Ramona Flowers, and supporting characters Kim Pine and Stephen Still. Scott’s roommate Wallace Wells and ex-girlfriend Knives Chau are added to the game as they were previously DLC. All of them have fairly diverse combos and special moves that either have them perform strong attacks or give them buffs. You navigate a Super Mario Bros. 3 style map of Toronto and navigate fairly long levels where you fight generic enemies with the occasional mini boss. At the end of most levels, you find yourself fighting one of the Seven Evil Exes. These range from fairly easy to kind of difficult, but it’s mainly due to how the game plays. The game itself plays like most beat ‘em ups that you’ve played before. One issue I tend to have with this game specifically is that it’s hard to judge where enemies in terms of depth, causing me to whiff air attacks and some specials. I don’t really have this issue with other beat ‘em ups and I like to think I have fairly decent vision. It’s just something to look out for if you have issues with depth perception. Overall, this game is pretty fun with some friends or family playing alongside you. Fans of the comic will find a lot more to appreciate compared to folks coming from the movie, seeing that the game uses a lot from the comic in terms of design and concepts that weren’t present in the movie. Another thing to note; some people complained about getting the US Best Buy version instead of the Limited Run Games version proper. I would have liked the Best Buy version seeing that I have the LRG version for PS4. Not a critique as much as something that would have been nice to have.

FALSE ADVERTISING
Seller straight up lies in description. When I bought my copy he was showing the sonic variant cover (actually from limited run games) and description reads includes 1 of 3 reversible covers, demonhead concert ticket and the limited run trading card. Yet the seller is selling the best buy variant(you get nothing but cartridge case and manual). It's clear as day it was done on purpose as now he has changed the picture to the best buy variant yet still has the description reading reversible cover and concert ticket. Shady business practice. Don't buy from IGGY'S!
