Fiddler on the Roof: Based on Sholom Aleichem's Stories

It’s a classic! I got this for my girls to read during the COVID 19 quarantine. They ended up reading it like a play and making up their own songs. After they read it, we watched the original film of the musical. They thoroughly enjoyed watching the musical and seeing how it unfolded in comparison to how they read. This was a great activity during this pandemic.

I'm fascinated by the difference between this version and more recent ones. There's an extra scene and song and slight differences in the scenes. I've also been listening to the original Broadway soundtrack on Apple Music.It's been a great help for the auditions coming up at our small local theater for it gives a different angle on the stories and characters. Thanks.

Great play! This book is the 50th Anniversary Edition of one of the world's most loved and successful Jewish plays. It is written, as a play, NOT as a novel. If you are looking to buy the novel of the same title, this is NOT the book for you!

The book is in great shape, and it cost $ .02 + $ 3.99 shipping--altogether just over $ 4.00 for a book I needed quickly for a writing assignment. That's unbelievably cheap for a script of a great musical show with photos of the original Broadway production. I had the book within 5 days of ordering. Hippo Books has my vote for best internet seller I've ever encountered!

I bought this book to prepare for auditioning for a production of the play. The script provided to us after casting was the EXACT same format (even down to page numbers).
