things are heating up in Oxford
CROCHET AND CAULDRONS is a standalone read. It is part of a series but can be enjoyed in any order. Lucy, an American, inherits her Gran's knit shop in Oxford. Upon arriving in town she discovers her Gran walking down a city street. How can it be? Lucy soon discovers that a nest of vampire are living below the shop. Now these are not your vampires of old. This is a feisty group of citizens living the good life with all modern enmities in the tunnels below Oxford. They are all friends of Gran's. They used her shop for their weekly knitting circle meetings. Lucy soon discovers that her Gran maybe dead but she is not gone. She was murdered and then saved by a vampire and she is in a transition state,.Lucy is having a time adjusting to all of this. Not being a knitter she is also at a loss as to how to run a knit shop. The business is located on a street with other small shops that have been around for generations. All are very friendly and set out to help Lucy adjust. Things seem to happen in Lucy's space. Things she has never heard of, things that puzzle the mind, good things and weird things. All add up to a delightful light-hearted read. There are a few murders but even those just add to the fun of Lucy trying to track down the killer and the vampires throwing in all their talents to help keep her out of trouble. And then there is Rafe. He is the leader of the vampires. He has been around for centuries and seems to know how to handle just about anything. He is a gorgeous hunk and he seems to have his eye on Lucy. Can that ever be? No idea but perhaps we will find out in future books. Lucy is approaching 30 and while she has no love interest there are plenty that would like to change that. AND then Lucy discovers that she comes from a long line of witches. She had no idea she was a witch or what to do with that information. In this story Lucy discovers that someone would like her dead. Not undead but really dead. Now she has to fight the forces of evil with her friend's help and some that maybe friends but then maybe not. It is a fun, delightful read and I really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend the series as well as this story. There is no sex involved so it would be appropriate for any age. I think teens would enjoy it as much as their grandmothers.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 10/25/18

Interesting paranormal mystery
The Vampire Knitting Club series is quickly becoming one of my favorite cozy mystery series. A young witch (who isn't terribly good at spells) inherits a wool shop (and she cannot knit worth a flip) from her grandmother (who isn't exactly dead) in Oxford, England (and folks just keep dying). In this book, Lucy is facing a real threat to her life in addition to having someone murdered. The only thing going right for her is her new shop assistant who is perfect for the job. Lucy's parents make an appearance and they are delightful in their focus on archaeology. For once, I guessed right about the plot, but I was so caught up in the story and the side characters that I wasn't disappointed. The end of the book did surprise me, and I have already bought the sequel. While the book can be read as a standalone, as with most cozy mysteries, the reader gains more if it is read in order. Anyone who likes cozy mysteries with a touch of the paranormal (witches and vampires, oh my!) should enjoy this book.

Another book in this wonderful and quirky series.
Lucy is given a cursed mirror. She discovers an evil demon uses it to suck out the sound of witches. She has to finds the demon, put up with her visiting parents, and make certain her parents never discover her vampire friends. I like the humor. Lucy cares about other people and the vampires. She wants to protect them all. The story keeps us guessing what disguise the demon is using to gain her confidence, in order to get close enough to kill her. The climax is exciting.

Lucy had just gotten settled back into the knit shop when her last assistant decided to head back to Australia. When the perfect replacement comes along, Lucy thinks that things are looking up. Then Mom & Dad decide to visit and suddenly nothing is as it seems. Witches, and vampires and demons, oh my! Another lovely paranormal knt shop mystery.

Adore It
Such a happy read, the sort of story I just can’t walk away from. The worst part is when the book ends! I am totally in love with all of the characters, even the nasty ones. Well written story, part of a fantastic world.

The vampire knitters are back
I really enjoyed this book which is number 3 in this series. Lucy is going through assistants like a whirlwind. This book is about a cursed mirror, a cat napped nyx and much more. Lucy's parents come to visit and add a bit more stress to Lucy's life. The vampire knitting group are there to add their assistance when Lucy is haunted by a demon.

Highly Recommended
Third in the series and these are such fun cozies with terrific characters. Unlike the previous two, I did identify the villain early on but still truly enjoyed reading the entire novel and will buy the next one immediately.

Creepy
Another assistant, another chance to learn how to knit. Lucy's parents are in Oxford, they needed to see her and came to seek funding and recruitments for their next dig. Will all go well the time, a powerful witch leader, Nyx being temporarily separated from Lucy, how will it end? Hopefully not in disaster. A great read.

Best yet
I really enjoyed this third outing of the vampire knitting club, what seems like a light relaxing read, is well crafted, with lots of misdirection, who is the baddie?.
