Although this guide is dated 1996, most of the information it contains is still relevant - details of the chateaux and cathedrals are unlikely to have changed significantly over the last 14 years, when one considers the great history of the Loire Region! Obviously opening times and admission prices will need to be checked beforehand, as these are something that may well have altered, along with restaurants and places to stay. I found the various sections absorbing - history, architecture, wine, and the part that the river has played through the centuries. Lovely glossy photos, floor plans and snippets of useful info. All in all, a really useful buy.

Does exactly as it says on the tin. These DK guides are really useful and make good quick reference. The deal was quick and easy.

This book is hopelessly out of date, and not even out on ebook. Great if you are 85 but if you are anything younger, you might be a bit disappointed.
